What do you envision quality improvement initiatives will look like in the next 10–20 years for government, nonprofit, and for-profit health care organizations? Do you foresee them remaining relatively independent or becoming increasingly entwined? Support your answer. Hello everyone, There are already federal mandates in place that require all public and private healthcare providers to adopt meaningful use of electronic medical records. (USF Health, 2017). In addition to the benefits it brings, this is meant to improve quality, safety, efficiency, improve care coordination, etc. Additionally, there is an HIE (Health Information Exchange) Act that “allows doctors, nurses, pharmacists, other health care providers and patients to appropriately access and securely share a patient’s vital medical information electronically…” (ONC, 2024). The HIE is also aimed at improving quality, safety, and patient care. Having said that, I do forsee that quality improvement initiatives will eventually become entwined. ONC. (2020, July 24).
