Hello Class,
My name is Christopher, and I am fortunate enough to live in Washington State on the
Olympic Peninsula just across the water from Seattle. I’m retired after spending 17 years in the
Grocery business and serving 8 years in the U.S. Army and currently continuing to work towards
achieving my bachelor’s in business administration.
After reading the chapter and thinking about this for a while, the first person that I could
think of is Robin Williams. I remember when I was young and I saw him for the first time on
T.V. as a stand-up comedian. I know I was too young to be watching it at the time due to its
subject matter, but I do remember laughing so hard when I watched him perform. Then to see his
acting career take off and the various different roles he would play. He brought so much laughter
to so many people for such a long time. If he had been performing 50 years prior to when he
came about, he would have been here sometime in the early 1900’s. He would have done well on
stage back then with his improvisations, charismatic character, and his ability to make people
laugh. As an actor in the 1900’s, he may not have done so well as the age of motion pictures had
just begun and acting at the time for a camera was something new.
