Lab questions (Indent and provide an answer in a complete sentence)
Question 1
How many GNSS satellites are currently being tracked by GNSS Planning Online? How many of
them are considered healthy?
I’m not sure if I searched correctly, but I see 138 total satellites were active and 17 are unhealthy. Question 2
How many Galileo satellites are currently active?
I see that 18 were actuve
Question 3
How many Beidou satellites are currently active?
I see that 44 were active. Question 4 At what specific times of day are the maximum number of GPS satellites visible? What is this maximum number? Hint
: You can use the time slider bar in the lower-right corner of the Number
1
of Satellites screen to give you the time that corresponds with a particular stack on the chart. These times are available in 10-minute intervals.
Question
5
At what specific times of day are the minimum number of GPS satellites visible? What is this minimum number?
Question 6
Which satellites are visible from Orlando at 6 a.m.? Hint
: You can use the time slider bar to move the horizontal line to a particular time. You can also hover your mouse over a particular color bar to obtain the satellite number that goes along with that bar.

Question 7 Which satellites are visible from Orlando at 4:00 p.m.?
Question 8
At what time(s) of day is the maximum value of geometric DOP (GDOP) encountered? What is this maximum value? Hint
: You can again use the time slider bar to move the horizontal line to a
particular time. You can also hover your mouse over a particular colored line to determine which
type of DOP that line represents and get the time associated with it. Question 9 2
At what time(s) of day is the minimum value for geometric DOP encountered? What is this minimum DOP value?
Question 10
Just based on the number of visible satellites and DOP calculations, what would be the “best” (i.e., peak) time range during which to perform GPS field measurements in Orlando, and why?
Question 11
Just based on the number of visible satellites and DOP calculations, what would be the “worst” time range during which to perform GPS field measurements in Orlando, and why?
Question 12
How many benchmarks are available in the database for this postal code? How many of them are
located within 1 mile or less of the Orlando 32819 postal code?
There are 123 benchmarks in the database and there are 6 located within a mile?
