Green Procurement (10 min, @Mingjuan Jiang)
1-
The federal government of Canada plans to introduce regulations banning fuel vehicles in the next 12 years. What does the City of Waterloo think about this regulation, and does the city have any plans to take corresponding actions to deal with this regulation?

canada
)
2-
Besides Tesla, many other automobile brands are developing electric vehicle products, such as BMW. However, we find that the supporting charging facilities in Waterloo cannot meet the needs of all future customers of the brands producing electric vehicles, will the City of Waterloo put forward corresponding response policies?
3-
Although electric vehicles do not cause exhaust emissions while driving, the
green benefits of electric vehicles disappear when they reach the end of their
life. If it ends up in a landfill, it will become toxic and cause pollution. How
will the City of Waterloo deal with this kind of large-scale battery pollution?
Encouraging Public Transit Use
(10 min, @Samuel Kumi)
1-
What type of partnerships or collaborations have been made (or are being considered) with local businesses/organizations to promote public transport usage in the Region (if any)?
2-
Which source of funding would be the most suitable for a project of this nature?
The Canadian Infrastructure Bank, The Federal Government's Public Transit Infrastructure Fund, the Region of Waterloo's existing budget or another source?
3-
Are there specific regulations relating to fares and pricing for public transportation services?
4-
What strategies are being considered to reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of public transit systems?
5-
How soon can the fleet expand to reach more remote but essential parts of the city e.g., Waterloo airport? Most Aviation students are encouraged to buy cars because there is no direct transit to the airport (where 70 % of their study takes place)
Climate change impacting cost (10 min, @Mahwash Kargel)
1-
Currently, do you, City of Waterloo, have any systems of monitoring and
measuring the cost incurred by climate change impacts? 2-
Is there any part in your annual financial report that represents the cost incurred
by climate change impacts?
3-
If the answer to question 2 is no- do you have any plans to incorporate the extra
expenditure incurred by climate change impacts into your financial report in
future?
