NSC-FPX1150: Science and Innovation
Assessment 5: Carbon Footprint and Climate Change
Part 1
Examine the factors that influence the feasibility of proposed solutions to
reducing your carbon footprint.
Reducing the thermostat by 80 degrees Fahrenheit during winter evenings
Reducing driving distance
Using green energy sources
Compare and contrast existing solutions
The best way to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions is via recycling. Since the same
resources are being put to many purposes, this also helps reduce the greenhouse impact (Attari et
al., 2019).
It is essential to recycle some materials since doing so reduces transportation costs and makes it
possible to create new goods with similar uses.
Examine the factors influencing the feasibility of proposed scenarios for reducing global
climate change.
I intend to switch to renewable power. Many of these may be done in the comfort of one's own
home. I plan to lobby for solar energy. Instead of using electricity to power lights and other home
appliances, I want to install solar panels. Because of this, we can reduce our reliance on
electricity, which contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and might hasten global warming.
Summarize the most effective solution to global climate change.
The best method to combat global warming is using environmentally friendly technology.
Integrating science and technology with manufacturing is at the heart of this. Adapting to the
challenges of climate change is central to the mission of green technology (Olaleru et al., 2021).
Significant green technologies for combating climate change include renewable electricity, clean
air, water, and green building.
Part 2
Key results from modeling of different global policy approaches to climate
Change
The government's rigorous regulations will lead to a reduction in the vast emissions of
greenhouse gases. Any company guilty of illegally discharging these gases into the atmosphere
would face severe penalties.
Similarly, citizens and the government will work together to prevent environmental pollution
through sustainable goals.
Ways to address climate change issues and environmental issues at the individual level.
Reduce driving
Reducing reliance on fossils
Replacing gasoline-powered automobiles with electric cars.
