Hogue Haley Hogue Prof. Rosalie Yezbick English 110 29May2022 Annotated Bibliography Poyner, Barry, and Research Consultancy.  WHAT WORKS in CRIME PREVENTION: AN OVERVIEW of EVALUATIONS. https://www.popcenter.org/sites/default/files/library/crimeprevention/ volume_01/01poyner.pdf Barry Poyner of Barry Poyner Research Consultancy, Hertfordshire, UK. This journal expresses Barry Poyner and Barry Webb’s research on crime prevention activities. Throughout this journal they outline the different measures of crime prevention by cataloging them into 6 different categories. This information was assembled into tables to further influence how the material may be analyzed. The author’s analyzed the effectiveness against not only crime as a whole but specific crimes as well. They concluded that the measures that are already used in this field can be made to work even though their analysis does not tell them if any individual crime prevention measure has been successful. Crime prevention does not have linear development, but the measures that have been developed are on the right track to successful policies. This journal is valuable to the final report because of its ranking of crime prevention methods and analysis of crime prevention development. Koch, Brigitte C M.  Politics of Crime Prevention . 2019. https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/mono/10.4324/9780429438547/politics-crime- prevention-brigitte-koch Brigitte C.M Koch discusses the influence politics have on crime and crime prevention therefore linking these theories to social and economic context. This journal discusses research which decided whom is tasked with controlling and affected National Crime Prevention Policy. Interviews were conducted, internal documentation was analyzed, and questionnaires were distributed to police and probation officers as methods of gaining information about the field of crime prevention and policing that were not available in the past. In concluding paragraphs, the author then provided explanations of criminological theory and their modern expressions to provide an understanding for modern crime prevention policy making. This book is a valuable source, it provides a different look on crime prevention, rather than solely looking at methods,
Hogue the author discusses the politics involved and who is actually in control of instituting and designing modern crime prevention methods.
