W02 Essay 1
The best way to live in the United States is through self-reliance and provident living so that as times prepare to get rougher for those who are living here can have the freedom of conscience allowing them to learn for themselves and give them options to think for as individuals and not as groups. Their agency and accountability will be in full force as they learn to rely on their own devices, viewpoints and to be completely independent from others. It is completely understandable for people to be worried about their future and whether they will be included in the majority, but something that they should realize is being included is not always the best option for people because their shared perspective on an event, situation, or individual can become identical to someone else’s viewpoint and lack their own individual interpretation. Self-reliance and provident living have become diminished and repetitive in a lot of the younger generations. Younger generations have often felt that they are more entitled to the privileges than those who have lived longer and worked for their personal achievements. They often feel the pressures of growing up more than the earlier generations because of the advancements we have here in the present day. An example of this selfish entitlement are where younger generations blame older generations for the lack of acknowledgement of their future and what it holds for them. Today relying on an individual’s own entitlement is a huge challenge for most because of the lack of communication between the two. Becoming self-
reliant should be a top priority for a lot of them because of the awful examples they have today
that they have to look up to for direction. Another advantage that most people often forget they have is the Freedom of Conscience, to think for themselves. Having the Freedom of Conscience helps protect their moral compass from invading interpretations. Even though most countries including the United States gives and protects the major rights of their citizens, people often rely on one individual for their input and claim it as their own. They lack the ability to think for themselves and stand at the front of their perspective and fend for it because they are afraid of becoming outcasted and victimized. Freedom of Conscience is a huge privilege and shouldn’t be taken lightly just to fit in with the crowd, it can allow individuals to be independent and self-reliant. Agency and accountability are both very important characteristics in an individual, they can have many advantages such as having the freedom to think, make choices, and take responsibility for his or her actions. A statement that was shared on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints webpage was that, “life is a gift from God and what we do with it is our gift back to Him,” people should understand that a decision or judgment is like a scale of justice that fluctuates based on how much it weighs on their conscience.
In conclusion, the mindset and attitude of a person’s freedom is very important, it allows their perspective to be clear from false invasions and manipulating consciences to make clear decisions in his or her life. Being self-reliant and thinking for their own being can reflect on
their appearance and performance in everyday life. Choosing the best in life at the accountability of agency allows a free conscience and shows God our gift of what most people agreed to accomplish during their lifetime here on earth.
