What is the topic of your research?
The topic of my research is the movie Malcolm X directed by Spike Lee. The movie chronicles the life of Malcolm X, a prominent African American civil rights leader and influential figure in the Nation of Islam. The film follows Malcolm X's transformation from a troubled youth involved in criminal activities to his conversion to Islam during his incarceration. It explores his journey towards becoming a charismatic and outspoken advocate for black empowerment, equality, and human rights.
2. What are the questions your research is examining?
The three questions my research is examining are in what ways did Malcolm X's views on the intersections of race, religion, and socioeconomic factors contribute to a broader understanding of systemic oppression and the struggle for justice? 1), How did Malcolm X's advocacy for black
self-determination and economic independence align with or challenge prevailing societal norms and political structures during his time? 2), What lessons can be drawn from Malcolm X's life and activism that are relevant to contemporary discussions on racial inequality, social justice, and
the ongoing struggle for civil rights? 3).

Some research resources I planned to use are newspaper, documents, documentaries, and websites. 4. How will doing this research help you develop your skills in English 102?
