The written test is intended to be completed by the student unassisted, within the allocated timeframe for each test element. If QCA suspects that the assessment was completed by someone other than the student, or that the student completed the assessment with assistance, QCA may request further evidence of written English ability. Students must also attend a face-to-face English assessment interview to complete their English Assessment. All face-to-face tests are conducted by one of the members of the International Student Training Department at QCA. A decision on the student’s suitability for study in our Cookery /Hospitality and Community Services programs will be made based on the results of both assessments. Students need an acceptable level of speaking, listening, reading and writing in order to successfully complete their practical and theoretical training. QCA requires that applicants are able to prove an English level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Students will need to provide a copy of their passport to QCA prior to undertaking their written and face-to-face test to verify their identity. The outcome of this assessment may impact on the student’s enrolment and/or their ability to study at QCA.
