The Family Rights and Privacy Act was founded to protect the rights of students after they turn eighteen. When a student turns eighteen, the parents no longer have access to the student's records unless the student has granted written permission to

The Lau versus Nichols court case was about a Chinese family who lived in California and their children attended a public school. While there were many non-english- speaking students at this school some of them did not receive education in their language. The people who were not receiving the correct education sued the system and this III.
