Page 2 of 6 After exploring the library databases and reviewing my brainstorming activity, I have selected two potential issues that are related to my Data Analytics and IT career. The first issue that I have identified is the impact of artificial intelligence on job displacement in the field of Data Analytics and IT. There are two arguable sides to this issue. On one side, proponents argue that the integration of artificial intelligence in Data Analytics and IT can lead to significant advancements in productivity and efficiency. On the other side, critics argue that the increased use of artificial intelligence in Data Analytics and IT can lead to job displacement. The second issue that I have identified is the ethical implications of big data and analytics in Data Analytics and IT. There are two arguable sides to this issue. On one side, proponents argue that big data and analytics have the potential to revolutionize industries and improve processes in Data Analytics and IT. On the other side, critics argue that the use of big data and analytics can raise ethical concerns. After exploring both sides of each issue, I have chosen to write about the impact of artificial intelligence on job displacement in the field of Data Analytics and IT. I have chosen to argue in favor of the integration of artificial intelligence in Data Analytics and IT, despite the concerns about job displacement. The argument in my persuasive essay will be addressing the impact of AI on employment for tech industry employees in a positive light. This potential and still unknown impact of AI on employment for tech industry employees is a highly debated topic. II. Identifying the Audience & Potential Challenges The target audience would be those employed in the technology industry and more specifically those who work as Data Analysts in the technology industry. The potential challenges I may encounter in supporting my argument with this audience is their expected resistance due to the idea that AI could have a negative impact on their job security.
Page 3 of 6 III. Establishing Persuasive Goal The goal of this essay is to effectively present the potential benefits of AI for tech industry employees and address the challenges and concerns they may have regarding job security to alleviate their fears and promote a more positive view of AI in the industry. IV. Key Points to my Argument To reduce the resistance, I need to provide evidence and arguments that support both viewpoints and offer potential solutions or strategies for tech industry professionals to adapt and thrive in the face of AI advancements. That will be the first key point that will support my argument is the potential benefits of AI for tech industry employees such as Data Analysts. The potential impact of AI on job security is a topic of great debate in the tech industry. On one hand, proponents argue that AI can bring numerous benefits to tech industry employees. It can automate repetitive tasks, increase productivity, and allow employees to focus on more complex and creative work. This can lead to higher job satisfaction and career growth opportunities. On the other hand, critics argue that AI has the potential to replace human workers in certain roles, leading to job loss and unemployment. One potential challenge in supporting the argument for AI's benefits is addressing the concerns and fears of job displacement. The audience I will be writing to is tech industry professionals who may have reservations or concerns about the impact of AI on their job security. V. Two Sources Supporting my Claims. One resource that supports this key point is the article by Shyamnath Gollakota titled "The Evolving Requirements for Tech Employees in the Age of AI." Page 4 of 6 The IT industry is certainly the biggest beneficiary of Artificial Intelligence technologies, as almost every process could be improvised with the implementation of AI. Yet, it is important to understand that Artificial Intelligence alone can’t replace humans to perform complex processes and functions, that is the reason why AI is used along with other technologies like Machine Learning or NLP (Natural Language Processing) to automate the steps of the software development lifecycle. (Sharma, 2021) Another resource that supports this key point is the book "The Fourth Industrial Revolution" by Klaus Schwab. The author discusses how AI can automate repetitive tasks, allowing tech industry professionals to focus on more complex and creative work. In the book "The Fourth Industrial Revolution," Klaus Schwab discusses how AI technologies can enhance productivity and efficiency in the tech industry. He highlights the potential for AI to streamline workflows and improve decision-making processes. VI. Plans on Integration of Evidence to Support Persuasive Claims In this essay, I plan to effectively integrate evidence by strategically incorporating quotes and paraphrases from these sources to support my arguments. I will provide proper in-text citations for each piece of evidence and use signal phrases to introduce the sources and their authors. This essay needs to successfully meet my goal by presenting a balanced analysis of the pros and cons of AI for tech industry employees, and addressing the potential challenges and opportunities that AI brings for their jobs and skill development with a focus on the potential opportunities and challenges that AI brings.
