I have acquired several ways to expand my list of resources, among them looking at previous
dissertation topics and exploring the cited references. I have also begun printing studies and
filing them to cite them in the future. I am also developing a page on Google Sheets with links,
quotes, and citations of various peer-reviewed articles related to my dissertation literature
review. Articles that showcase not only research but background information as well have been
very helpful to fully understand the topic before it leads to defending the topic. This
information was gathered to explain and expand on research already conducted on the topic.
As my academic experience continues to develop, I plan to gather the skills needed to evolve
into a researcher. While two courses get me closer to the full development of my dissertation
topic it is important to also acknowledge the continuous research needed as the years progress
and new studies are published and peer-reviewed. As the courses progress, additional citations
and references will continue to be collected for future use in the dissertation topic. While it is
unknown how this research will modify the dissertation topic, it is also exciting to continue
researching the same topic matter and follow its progress. It will be very interesting to find a
gap within the research, study it, and conduct a study to expand on that research. “The
researcher develops a problem space through the process of studying the scholarly research on
the proposed topic, identifying potential research needs or future research agendas defined in
this scholarly research, and using these needs or agendas to develop a set of arguments to
justify a research need. The proof or evidence for each of these arguments comes from
citations identified in the scholarly literature
