Resume Reflection
This was a mock resumé that I created in my 12th grade AP english class. The resumé was used as a
practice for when we need to create them for professional jobs later in life. We were asked to create
a resumé in a standard format and include information about ourselves that would make a potential
hiring manager want to pick us. I highlighted all of my achievements and my academic successes, as
well as including my interests and contact information. This project helped me understand the
proper way to write a resumé, and helped me learn how to focus on my strengths. Before doing this
project, I really didn't know how to format a resumé, nor did I fully know what went into it. This
benefited me significantly, and now I feel confident that I

Essay on Why I Want to be a Professional Engineer
Engineers are viewed as the backbone of modern society. The innovation and the creativity that
drives our society forward are inspired by the teachings of engineering, whether it is transporting on
a bus or making a phone call, the work of an engineer is experienced. Engineers satisfy both
themselves and humanity which is the reason for my passion for engineering
.
The idea of seeing a project come to life is what provokes my desire to become an engineer
. In the
past, engineers have created the greatest historic innovations such as health technology. My passion
for chemical engineering is seeing how the fundamental theories of Chemistry, Physics and Math
can be applied to create an innovative industry. In very concrete ways, engineers

I would like to add to my degree by completing an Engineering and Social Development
certification and a minor in French at UFT. Even more, the location of this campus is ideal for me
because I may easily commute and educate myself in the heart of Toronto.
Throughout my high school life, my extracurricular involvement has helped me develop a variety of
skills. Primarily, I have been a part of the Leadership and Peer Support group as a project manager
of a conference; I exercised my leadership and collaborative skills. As an engineer, there are times
where an individual with leadership and cooperative skills must rise and become the leader in
different projects. Interpersonal skills play a significant role in an engineer's life because they will
always be required to communicate with new people. Earlier this year, a peer and I decided to start a
Student Mentorship Program and as a co–founder of this group, I learned how to problem solve,
make decisions, think laterally, and work as a team. As a student, my skills will allow me to accept
challenges with confidence and contribute to discussions during lectures with new ideas. Teamwork,
leadership, interpersonal and hands–on skills are key abilities engineers must contain in order to be
successful.
Engineering is an exciting field that I believe will be enjoyable, challenging, and above all, intuiting
to undertake at university. I believe pursuing engineering means exceeding your expectations and
making a

Why I Want To Be A Writer
I want to be a writer when I grow up. Being a writer is hard. The success of your job is dependent
not only on whether you have done it well but also on whether other people think you have done
well. I would like to be a writer. I don't know if I can do it. It's like any other job; you never know
until you try. But few other jobs are as dependent on the opinions of others and on something that
has no basis in fact or logic. One word out of place can tear a whole work apart, and yet a few black
and white words arranged just so can unleash a world of color and feeling. A spark of inspiration can
create a new world from nothing, metaphorically speaking. It is the gift of God
. He gives some
people a story to tell and the ability to tell it. Like any gift from God, it is something to be used to
His glory and not taken lightly. To use any gift takes work.

In college you can major in Creative Writing but many authors recommend that you do not. Instead,
they advise that you study Literature instead, the great works of authors past and present. If you
don't know what is good, how can you write something good yourself? Or you can do this outside of
college and simply read the great works of literature on your own, studying what makes these
writers great, what writing tricks and techniques make up their style. The purpose is not to copy
them; the purpose is to be inspired. To be a writer you must write. This is the most important piece
of advice. Write anything, even if it's as flat as the floor. The more you use words, the more they
become willing to be used by you. The more you write, the more you have something to write.
Writing is both a skill and a gift. It is both acquired and

My Experience as a Writer
My Experience as a Writer
It all started when I was just a little kid. I began learning how to speak and use our language. I
watched learning videos teaching me how to talk properly and use different words. Once I reached
first grade, we began writing very simple sentences and learning the basics of writing
. By the time I
reached Elementary school, we learned about the sentence structure and we began making more
complex sentences. We also started writing paragraphs and short essays. When I reached Middle
school, we began writing longer essays and we learned how to write in more detail. We started
learning more advanced vocabulary and different styles of writing. We learned mostly about fiction,
non–fiction, and persuasive essays. In my

When I was eleven years old, I was asked to be interviewed on camera about golf
. I was very
nervous and I honestly did not want to do it. I did the interview anyway and it was a very
embarrassing experience for me. The interviewer told me to answer in complete sentences because
the audience wouldn't hear him ask the question. He asked me the first question, "Why do you like
to play golf?" I simply replied with, "It's mostly fun." Thankfully it wasn't a live interview so I got a
second chance. The second time, I answered in complete sentences and gave much better answers.
On my birthday last week, my brothers came down from North Carolina to visit me and my family.
My dad showed everyone the DVD that my interview was on. My family thought that I did a good
job with the interview but I didn't agree. My brothers were giving me a hard time about what I said
in the first take of the interview. The whole weekend they were repeating, "It's mostly fun." This was
very embarrassing for me but I have learned a lot from this experience. I have learned how to write
better and be more comfortable around cameras. I have written many non–fiction essays, and I
really enjoy writing them. Persuasion is one of my favorite types of non–fiction writing. I have
written persuasive essays throughout middle school and high school
. When I was in middle school, I
wrote letters to the principle trying to convince him to change certain things about our school to
make it better. For example, I

I Am A Great Writer
I'm a great writer. Writing is something that comes naturally to me. I don't even have to think about
it most of the time. Being able to communicate through writing is important with any career,
especially management. I am very creative as well. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been into
drawing, music, and coming up with new ideas. I am very motivated and I know how to lead teams.
For example, in my Business Ethics class I took it upon myself led a semi–dysfunctional team and
we achieved a good grade in the class. I am also a perfectionist, which is good but can easily
backfire on me. Where I See My Management Weaknesses One of my weaknesses might be that I'm
an introvert. To address the introvert/extravert issue; I'd say I'm more of an introvert. Some of my
favorite authors including Zig Ziglar and Grant Cardone identify themselves as introverts although
they come across as strong extraverts. Mr. Ziglar said something that made me want to get into
sales. He said that introverts make better salespeople because they can relate to the customer better,
research what the customer wants, and adopt characteristics that an extravert has. On my spare time
I read books like "Sell or be sold" by Grant Cardone, "See you at the top" by Zig Ziglar, "Live your
dreams" by Les Brown, and of course "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. All of which motivate
me and make me a better person. I view success as my obligation, duty, and responsibility and I
believe it is dangerous to be

My Dream Job: Being a Lawyer Essay examples
"The jury has made their decision, the plaintiff has been found guilty." These are the words that one
day I will finally hear. My future goal is to be a lawyer. A lawyer is a professional person authorized
to practice law. They defend or prosecute people for the crimes they have committed.
(dictionary.com) I am very out spoken and believe in fighting for what I want or think is right.
Being a lawyer means that there are many responsibilities to carry out. It takes a great deal of timing
and patience to finish the job, which I'm sure I can handle. Being a lawyer can be a tough job to
work on. All you have to do is work as much as you can to succeed on the case. A beginning lawyer
makes about $25,000–$128,000 a year. (Pasternak & Thornburg

An aspiring lawyer must enter law school and complete a Juris doctor program. However, before
applying to law school, an undergraduate degree must first be completed. In some places, a drug test
is randomly completed. (www.lawyer.com) Lawyer's students set on a career in law need to continue
getting good grades in their university life, and not make the error of thinking that it is only the end–
of–third–year exam performance that counts. First and second–year exam results are taken into
account by firms and chambers when considering applicants for work experience, as well as training
contracts/pupils. (www.aboutlawschools.org) Personally this is something I wouldn't need to adjust
to being growing up my mom always made sure I was on track with my school work.
Some skills are needed as stated in "The Criminal Justice Lawyer on page 1" it says "the ability to
write high quality legal briefs that successfully present the client's case". A lawyer needs to have a
lot of knowledge of the law and the rights of the people. They should also know how to analyze
legal issues in light of the existing state of the law. (www.aboutlawschools.org) It is also important
to know the road in which the law is headed, and important policy

My Growth As A Writer
The Memo will directly address my growth as a writer throughout my time in EH 101–13. It will
also highlight my current strengths and weaknesses in my own personal writing style.
My Development Rhetorical Analysis: This being the first paper I wrote for you, it turned out to be
utter garbage. This was my worst essay because I was overconfident in my own writing ability and
didn't think I had much room to improve on. At the time I felt like it was a top notch essay, but I
have recently gone back and reread it only to notice it as choppy and stale to read. Then the paper
was riddled with comma splices, even after you did a lesson going over how to fix them. It wasn't
out of spite that I kept repeating these mistakes, but instead it was just ignorance on the matter. It
was my goal coming out of that essay to fix those errors and while not perfect, I feel I have
improved in my awareness of the problem. This paper taught me a great deal on how to think more
critically about situations. This new mindset directly came into play in the second essay. I learned
my greatest lesson from this paper. I have so much room for improvement. Now that I can see more
of my errors I can continue to improve and move forwards with my writing abilities.
Literary Analysis: The Literary Analysis was by far my best essay and the one I most enjoyed
writing. The new critical thinking skills I learned in the first essay made writing this paper much
easier. I also found the topics of the
