1. To work as efficiently as a dipole, a monopole antenna requires ground plane . 2. A lower frequency signal uses a longer antenna, whereas a higher frequency signal uses a shorter antenna. 3. The gain of an antenna is the measure of how an antenna focuses the beam. 4. A directional antenna typically has a low gain. True or False? Ans ; false 5. Passive antennas can be designed in a way that effectively increases the strength of a signal in a particular direction. True or False? Ans : True 6. The length of an antenna depends upon the frequency of the RF signal and the gain. 7. When planning an outdoors wireless link, you should always prepare a link budget to ensure that the signal that reaches the receiver meets the minimum signal strength requirements for a reliable connection. 8. List two types of directional antennas. Ans ; The two types of directional antennas are: Yagi-Uda Antenna: This is a widely used type of directional antenna that consists of several elements arranged along a central support beam. It is known for its relatively high gain and directional properties. Parabolic antenna: this antenna uses a parabolic reflector to direct and focus radio waves to a single point where the feed horn or dipole is located. Satellite trunks are commonly used for satellite communications and point-to-point wireless communications.
9. How do smart antennas function? Ans : Smart antennas use advanced signal processing techniques to dynamically adjust their radiation pattern in response to changing conditions using beaforming, spatial filtering,Adaptive processing,Dynamic steering and interference rejection. 10. How do sky waves propagate? Ans : Skywave propagation has been used for long-distance radio communication, such as international broadcasts, maritime communication, and amateur radio. However, advancements in satellite communication and terrestrial communication technologies have reduced the reliance on skywave propagation for many applications 11. What happens if someone sets up a pair of antennas that interfere with your point-to-point link between two buildings, using the same unlicensed frequency channel as you do? Ans : if someone sets up a fair of antennas that interfare with the point to point link between two buildings it may create a problem on following reasons 1. Signal degradation 2. Data loss and corruption 3. Increased latency 4. Network instability
