Team approaches
Give a brief statement of your team approaches for the assignment (i.e., horizontal approach, sequential approach, free-form approach, or stratified approach) and why you choose this approach?
Stratified
Horizontal
Sequential Our team has chosen to adopt a mix of stratified, horizontal, and sequential approach. Each member has a specific role and is responsible for a section of the report. We have split the group into three pairs, with each pair responsible for one topic. We aim to work independently, but also to collaborate and to help each other complete the report to an optimal standard. Team members also have the responsibility to check over each other’s work.
2.1 Team Aims:
What do you aim to achieve from the undertaking of this group assignment.
We aim to foster collaboration and teamwork in a group environment, essential skills that are integral to our future careers.
We also aim to develop effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills which will prepare us for the workplace. We intend to undertake extensive research and complete the project to a suitable standard. This is so that we can adequately learn about the different aspects of construction. 2.2 Guiding Principles
Communication
Support
Respect of ideas and individuals
Honesty and discussion of problems
Role distribution
Celebration/rewards
3.

These roles may be subject to change at the discretion of the majority of group members.
3.2 Team meetings and check-ins
When and where?
First meeting – Business Building 22/03/2024
We had our first meeting to complete the Group Assignment Strategy and Agreement Document. We assigned team roles, selected our project, and allocated work tasks.
Second meeting – Online Zoom Meeting 27/03/2024
The purpose of our second meeting was to collate our individual research into a single Google Doc. We then edited, formatted and proofread each other’s work, and started on the first draft of our report.
Third meeting – In person meeting; Electrical Engineering Building 03/04/2024
Our main deliverable was to complete the first draft of our report by this date. We came together to discuss the details of our report, and to sort out any inconsistences and issues. We aim to complete the final report by Wednesday next week. Fourth meeting – In person: UNSW Library 10/04/2024
We completed our report. We came together as a group to look through each other’s work
and 3.3 Communications
Identify your methods of communication during the semester i.e. WhatsApp, UNSW emails, face to face meetings.
Our main methods of communication are Snapchat, Facebook Messenger and iMessage. These are used to facilitate group meetings and general communication. They were selected due to convenience and ease of usage. Group meetings will also be held in person. For work collaboration and documentation, we have chosen to use Google Docs and Word due to familiarity and ease of use. 4.
Team Productivity Management
Conflict is an inevitable part of every group process and can be an opportunity for growth
if it is handled correctly. It is therefore important to spend time outlining the way your BLDG 1013 Introduction to Construction Management & Property

team will handle conflict and to have clear steps in the event of non-compliance with this group agreement.
4.1 Conflict Management
What strategies will you use to minimise the risk of conflict within the group?
Be open to different ideas Be polite and non-derogatory
Inclusive and open communication
Honest sharing of ideas without judgement or discrimination
Listening to others opinion and taking into consideration all differences in opinion
Team bonding activities and reconciliation strategies in the case of conflict
4.2 Procedures for dealing with non-compliance with this agreement
4.2.1
Minor non-compliance
A minor non-compliance is one which disrupts the process but can be resolved within the group. Dispute
Resolution
Missing a meeting
Catch them up through online communication platforms
Not replying to a message/post
Send another message or an email, leave enough time before messages to give the person enough time to reply
Lack of respect for others
Honest communication and feedback to the offender in order to rectify behaviour
Incomplete work
Team meeting to discuss, find out reason why, try to help
and support the person if they are going through struggles 4.2.2 Major non-compliance
A major non-compliance would be when a member’s action disrupts the process and affects the assignment and other members. These conflicts need to be referred to the lecturer for resolution.
Major non-compliance may result in loss of marks or a failing grade for the individual(s) concerned.
Dispute
Resolution
Complete and consistent lack of
communication
If minor dispute resolution tactics have been unsuccessful on several occasions, lecturer is to be contacted
Bullying / harassment
Immediately contact lecturer
Consistent failure to complete work without reasonable excuse
Immediately contact lecturer. Re-allocation of workload may be exercised.
5.
Celebrating success
Decide how and when the group should celebrate milestones
Milestone
Reward
First meeting and starting the assignment
Get to know each other, team bonding
Completed first draft of report Group meeting to celebrate
Complete final draft of report
Celebrate at Roundhouse

Analyse several voltage and current situations in different loading scenarios in a simplified radial (transformer to consumption) medium-voltage power system example. There are only 2 nodes in the 35 kV line – node 0 from the 110/35 kV and node 1 with one consumer.
Briefly reflect on the complexity of the calculations for known input or output voltage, as well as for fixed or voltage-dependent consumption in this simple power system model.
Analyse and discuss the sensitivity of the voltage drop [in % of amplitude and the degrees of phase] with respect to the current level [in %] and to the power factor.
