1 Potential sources of the problem There are several sources of the problem. One, is the resistance to change. The staff could be hesitant to perceive new data entry procedures due to the more work or just not knowing how to do the new procedure. Two, is tech issues. Most technology have glitches that can lead up to errors. Three, training is very important. If there is lack of training, then information will not get put in correctly. Improper training can lead to many errors. Information you want to analyze Analyze how the hospital communicates with the staff and administrators. Communication is a big factor when dealing with staff. Knowing were everyone is at with receiving information and training purposes will help the hospital in the long run. Examining the data that was entered will help with any errors. All training programs dealing with data entry need to be evaluated before putting the procedures in place. Actions that I might recommend increasing the accuracy of the data entry I would provide Incentive programs. Rewarding correct data entry can improve the accuracy from the staff. Make sure the technology that is being used is checked for any tech issues and confirm that it is user friendly. Create a training program that will help the staff understand the importance of accuracy when entering data. How does your view of behavior affect how you might address this consulting assignment? Motivation is key. The behavior changes when an incentive structure is put in place. Keeping the staff driven to put in the correct data. Training programs enhances the staff’s skills. This will help with errors and once that change is made then the next step is to focus on the comprehensive training programs.
