DSMN 870 N ETWORK E COSCAN A SSESSMENT A SSIGNMENT I NSTRUCTIONS O VERVIEW You will conduct an analysis of your ministry context through the use of a network ecoscan. This type of scan looks at ministry groups to determine connections, disconnections, and ecological impact of growth within the group. To that end, you will be analyzing culture and identity, group dynamics, and congregational/ministry ecology using the information provided in the Studying Congregations website. You will also diagram connections within the ministry, nested connections, and networks that influence ministry members. I NSTRUCTIONS You will not submit this assessment until Module 6: Week 6. In preparation, the following elements should be reflected in your ecoscan and initial work conducted in Module 5: Week 5: Ecological analysis  Timeline - major milestone markers, cultural shifts, major changes  Demographics – people groups, cultures (internal/external), family groups  Spaces (external and internal) – ministry location, physical structures, neighborhood elements  Practices – church life, celebrations, observations  Organizational – administrative, leadership, environment Cultural identity  Worship, service, practices, rituals, activities, celebrations  Artifacts, structures, stories, layout, symbols  History, language, views  People groups, demographics Group dynamics  Care, hospitality, conflict resolution  Mobilization, community building, boundaries  Committees, decision-making, leadership structures This ecoscan should be between 1,000 – 1,500 words, not including the title page and bibliography if needed. Current Turabian format must be used and paper should be double- spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font.
