Is this a relation? (Answer Yes or No) 2. If no, why? 3. Identify and list the functional dependencies in this relation. Express dependencies using the (determinant dependencies) notation. 4. Normalize the relation “Step-by-step” up to the BCNF and split into as many relations as needed. Identify the primary and foreign keys. Name relations appropriately. (Show each step in your solution using the normalization notation/functional notation (not tables with data). Make sure to evaluate each normal form. See Exercise 1 solution for an example.) 5. After you complete question 4, show the normalized relations as tables using the data from the table COURSE provided above.
