INSERT RESPONSE: I considered all values to be equal when it came to selecting my top five personal and professional values. For obvious reasons, I chose honesty and candor as my top two personal values out of the five options. Candor is being honest and open-minded, and it will carry you far in life if you are honest with yourself. These two values will aid with time management. As my top two professional values, I chose preparation and being a good role model. Proper preparation avoids poor performance is what I stand for in my professional context; this statement indicates that no matter what challenges you face if you're prepared for them, you'll perform well. Being a good role model emphasizes the importance of leadership and time management since you want your subordinates to follow in your footsteps because you're pioneering the pathway and establishing a standard. My professional and personal principles will have a beneficial impact on small groups or team environments. Due in Unit 4 Assignment: Items II and III Item II: Professional Planning Career Objective and Skills: Identify a career objective and list 6 skills and capabilities you will need in order to be successful in that career field. Skill #6: problem-solving skills Reflection: Review the skills you listed above and identify the skills you already have and note where/how you developed these skills. Next, identify skills you still need to develop and note where/how you will work on developing these skills. INSERT RESPONSE: In my humble view, I already have these recognized skills. I developed these abilities at an early age and proceeded to hone them when I joined the Army at the age of 17. The skills described were acquired through life experiences and exposure to circumstances that demanded the greatest skills. My father taught me these talents early in life and ingrained in me the importance of these skills to be successful in life and to operate a business. I would have to say that my listening and interpersonal skills need to be worked on. I'll improve my listening abilities by being more empathetic to other people's sentiments, understanding where they're coming from, and taking them into account. My interpersonal skills are lacking because I prefer not to connect with people throughout the day. I plan to improve this by being more social and engaging in talks with others. 3 years: Work on my Master in Business. 2 years: Obtain Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Reflection: Respond to the following in a minimum of 250 words: Identify a specific academic goal and explain how you will use S.M.A.R.T. goal setting to achieve this goal. Identify a specific professional goal and explain how you will use S.M.A.R.T. goal setting to achieve this goal. Explain how you might use S.M.A.R.T. goal setting strategies to work through a challenge you might encounter as you are working with a small work group or team. INSERT RESPONSE: My academic aim is to make the Deans' List and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. I will apply the S.M.A.R.T goal-setting method to achieve this academic goal. The most crucial thing for me will be to use my time management and organizational abilities, as most of my classes will be online owing to my employment decision. Online programs necessitate excellent time management and discipline. To be able to monitor my progress and guarantee I'm on track to achieve my attainable goal, I'll check my GPA for the classes I'll be taking on a weekly basis and make sure I'm doing everything I can to earn the best grade possible. One of my professional objectives is to network and secure an internship with a reputable property management company. I will utilize the S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting approach to achieve this relevant goal since it is the most significant and relevant objective for me to achieve in my professional goal journey. Attainability and a suitable time-based strategy will assist me in achieving this goal; if I believe I am not in the position in my professional journey to be an intern for a company, I will appear like a fool and lose my reputation before it even begins by not being ready for the position at the time and ruining relationships. The S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting strategy means specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. S.M.A.R.T goal setting strategies will help me overcome obstacles I might encounter as a small team by creating a productive work environment. I can create a productive work environment by creating realistic goals, having the goals be attainable and not too ridiculous, having team meetings to share the progress of the mission, and using that time to highlight stellar performers. 7
