Module 2 Short Responses – Question 1 What types of primary and secondary sources will you need to use to support the topic you are examining in your essay? You don't need the actual sources yet, but you should have an idea of what they might be (such as an eyewitness account of an event, for example). The types of primary sources I would use could range from newspapers from that time period to show the outrage that occurred before the Law was passed. As well as speeches from President Lyndon Johnson. The secondary sources would be textbooks from after the time period and journal articles covering the event. Module 2 Short Responses – Question 2 What are two or three keywords you could use to look for sources to answer this question? Two or three keywords that could be used 1.Brooklyn Bridge 2. New York construction industry 3.Irish immigrants and sandhogs Module 2 Short Responses – Question 3 What subject terms can you use to continue your search? Terms that could be used to continue the search would be, Hudson River tunnels, sandhog band, 1874 to 1906, New York City.   Module 2 Short Responses – Question 4 When you search for "construction," you get a lot of extraneous answers. What [?]Boolean operators[/?] and corresponding search terms could you use to narrow your search? I think and would be the best boolean operator to use. Construction has a lot of terms that fit together. Concrete and paving for example would be a more narrow topic in construction.
