The internet has paved the way for cloud computing and services using cloud-based functionality in today's world. Netflix is a popular service that almost everyone has heard of and uses today. It's also a great example of a cloud-based tool transforming the entertainment industry. In the present day, this streaming service works entirely within the cloud, utilizing cloud computing infrastructure to provide users with a seamless content consumption experience. Instead of storing content on individual devices, the company has a vast collection of movies, TV shows, and documentaries on remote servers. They "...can support seamless global service by using Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS enables Netflix to quickly deploy thousands of servers and terabytes of storage within minutes. Users can stream Netflix shows and movies from anywhere in the world, including on the web, on tablets, or on mobile devices such as iPhones." (Netflix Case Study 2016) Another cloud-based tool many have used is Grammarly. This tool gives users spelling and grammar support and uses AWS private cloud services to maintain and protect user data. It stores user data and preferences "...in Grammarly's private network inside our secure cloud platform, and each Grammarly user's data is isolated from other users' data.” (Security at grammarly n.d.) Since the service is run off the cloud, it uses algorithms that store memory and provide processing power. This means it has a greater ability to review and improve a user's writing far better than anything that can be put on a regular computer or laptop. Additionally, the cloud-based model enables Grammarly to update and enhance their algorithms in real-time, allowing immediate improvements across its user base. (Kepes, 2015) Google Workspace is a cloud-based suite of tools from Google that offers various applications through web browsers. Its applications like Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
enable real-time collaboration by allowing multiple users to work simultaneously on the same project. Since the platform is cloud-based, users can access the applications from anywhere on any device with internet access. Regular updates are seamlessly integrated into the platform, and strong security measures protect user data, including encryption and multi-layered protections. With administrative controls and integration options, Google Workspace optimizes productivity and enables collaboration in both personal and professional environments. The evolution of all three cloud-based services, Netflix, Grammarly, and Google Workspace, have collectively changed user experiences through their accessibility and personalization. The algorithms, through Netflix, provide recommendations that help users discover new content similar to other interested media. The ability to stream across multiple devices has changed how users view their content in a personalized and on-demand way. Grammarly has revolutionized writing assistance by providing real-time grammar through any device with internet access, enhancing users' communication skills. Since the application's reach is widespread across devices and integrated into other apps, users can use this service to improve their text messages, social media posts, and even professional communications. Google Workspace, formerly G Suite, has promoted collaborative work environments with its cloud- based tools, allowing for real-time co-editing and remote access to documents, emails, and calendars. Their single sign-on feature streamlines accessing each application within the workspace, making accessing all the tools simple. Workspace also provides simple share or permission access, which has allowed more accessible peer reviews on projects, documents, and knowledge sharing.

From a user standpoint, choosing cloud deployment models for tools like Netflix, Grammarly, and Google Workspace involves several important considerations. A public cloud model for Netflix ensures adaptability and global access, allowing users to stream content effortlessly. Grammarly's user experience relies on seamless access, making a public cloud model beneficial for real-time recommendations and consistency across platforms. Data privacy should be a consideration for both services on with the public cloud model because “data residency/privacy regulations might not be satisfied in the public cloud." (LaunchDarkly, 2023), especially considering the private nature of the data Grammarly would have access to through private text messaging, etc. Google Workspace's cloud deployment offers collaboration and synchronization features crucial for remote work. Users should consider their organization's data policies and needs and the potential for downtime or connectivity issues impacting productivity. Users must evaluate the trade-offs between convenience, performance, security, and compliance to decide on the most suitable cloud deployment model. A successful setup of a new cloud service model for users involves addressing several critical challenges. First and foremost is prioritizing data security and privacy concerning compliance with relevant governing regulations, such as HIPPA, FERPA, CCPA, and even GDPR, to safeguard user information depending on the reason for the data and where the data subjects reside. Practical cost management is also crucial to prevent unexpected expenses, as cloud services often operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. Third, incorporating the new cloud service with existing systems can be tricky, requiring careful planning to ensure compatibility and data migration. Scalability is another important consideration to ensure the ability to handle an uptick in user demand without compromising performance. Another consideration is accessibility for
users. Users must consider the possibility that a full cloud model depends on internet access. Weather and other events can cut this access, leading to downtime and loss of productivity. When implementing cloud computing services, collaboration with IT teams is paramount. One of the first challenges a data analyst may face is the service "buy-in" with the IT team. Changing is always challenging and can be complex. Depending on the team's attitude, fostering support from the IT teams can be difficult. Second, there can be compatibility issues when migrating legacy systems with cloud services, requiring comprehensive testing, system updates, and validation. Third, security concerns should arise as sensitive data moves to the cloud to ensure compliance with governing bodies. Finally, managing the transition effectively to minimize disruption and downtime while optimizing performance and cost efficiency can be challenging, requiring careful planning and coordination. Google Cloud Platform is an excellent example of an infrastructure as a service. The service provider ensures the "...hardware is ready to use, reliable, and resiliently configured. " (LaunchDarkly, 2023). This is necessary for anyone who may not have the capital or the space to house their infrastructure. Their pay-as-you-go feature makes using this service cost-effective and manageable for any user who may not have the funds to begin storing or using data. Microsoft Azure as a Platform as a Service (PaaS) offers many use cases for users. It provides a development and deployment environment, allowing developers to build and customize cloud-based applications using built-in software features, reducing coding efforts, and incorporating cloud features like scalability and increased availability. Azure PaaS is also instrumental in analytics and business intelligence, enabling organizations to gain insights from data for improved decision-making and forecasting. Additionally, it supports various additional
services such as "...workflow, security, and scheduling" (What is Paas? 2023). Azure PaaS allows for efficient development across multiple platforms, including mobile, while maintaining affordability through a pay-as-you-go model. This service benefits users across regions as it provides easy access to its services via the internet regardless of a user's location. The Google Workspace mentioned earlier is a SaaS that provides a suite of cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools for various users, from personal to business. Google Workspace includes applications such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Meet, Chat, and more for the basic personal user and even business intelligence analytic tools like Big Query, Airflow, AI, and Looker Data Studio for organizations. It offers "...subscription options for individuals, education, and nonprofit organizations" (Wallen, 2022), making this a cost-effective option depending on your available resources and needs. This SaaS solution consolidates essential tools like email, chat, voice and video calling, and content management into a single platform. It empowers organizations to work remotely and efficiently. These models also have drawbacks, including data compliance and security matters and the need for an internet connection to use the service. To justify using these services, a user must consider factors like existing resources and costs, data security measures, compliance with governing bodies, and the user's or business's specific needs. For instance, a small company might choose IaaS to reduce upfront infrastructure costs to save capital while they open their business. A large organization may opt for PaaS, especially in the healthcare or educational industry, because it "...strengthens and simplifies security while accelerating responses to evolving threats..." (What is Paas? n.d.). These organizations need appropriate security measures, data privacy, and compliance considerations to meet the requirements set out by

HIPPA or FERPA. SaaS might be good for a small business aiming for cost-effective software solutions because it helps "...save money in a variety of ways, including lower upfront costs for software and hardware, reduced office rent, and transportation costs." (Fenyuk, 2023) Ultimately, the choice depends on the organization's unique requirements, available resources, and overall objectives. References Netflix Case Study. Amazon.
