Hello Professor and Classmates,
Week 4 Discussion
Applying the AIM Process:
Description of a Past Communication Issue:
Main problem not being clear of the overall expectations. Not communicating clearly can have a negative impact on the employee’s teamwork in the organization. Planning process impacted. Impacted first is collecting as many relevant facts as possible, and wasting time making sound judgements about what the facts mean for a project.
Audience Analysis (A):
Before: The most effective business messages is planning. And critical there are missing components.
After: Identifying business problems and components of message structure with planning. AIM planning process is structuring messages including planning, drafting, and reviewing.
Information Gathering (I):
Before: The “first of All” gave me a defensive edge.
After: Detailed installation timelines, specific safety protocols, and operational impacts. Message Development (M):
Before: Social media in the workplace need to be created instead of talking about business on the clock. After: The message could have been structured with clear dates, detailed safety measures, operational impacts, and contingency plans, with contact information. Effectiveness of the AIM Before: T
he AIM process would have significantly improved the outcome.
After: The project manager would have understood the team's need for detailed and specific information by thoroughly analyzing the audience. Thanks,
Stephanie Bailey-Dairsow
