Out of the listed options I chose to take the Emotional Intelligence (EI) test. The results were enlightening for me, offering a deeper understanding of how I personally interpret my emotions and relate to others. I viewed my results on the topics of self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management. My score of 9 in self-management did not come as a surprise. I always pride myself in my ability to maintain composure during challenging situations and control my reactions, as a law enforcement officer this ability is necessary. This however did remind me that there is always room for improvement, I can use this reminder to continue refining my self-management skills, particularly in high-pressure scenarios. My score of 7 in self-awareness was slightly lower than I had anticipated. I believed I possessed a deep understanding of my own emotions, however after viewing this result, I am reminded that self- awareness is an ongoing challenge. This result encourages me to dive deeper into my own emotions. My score of 6 in social awareness was somewhat surprising to me. I had assumed I was more aware of the emotions and needs of those around me. This result does serve as a valuable wake-up call. I am prompted to focus on being more attentive to the subtle changes in those around me. I strongly believe this will help strengthen my ability to be empathetic. My score of 4 in Relationship management was the most surprising. I certainly expected my score in this area to be higher, I believe in the importance of effective communication and conflict resolution. This score is a stark reminder that I need to put more effort in honing my ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships. It is crucial for my career path that I improve this score. Overall, I found this emotional intelligence test to be helpful, the results will help me to become more empathetic, and build better relationships with those around me. Having high emotional intelligence will help to improve my ability to listen carefully and connect with others on an emotional level, read nonverbal cues, manage my own emotions, and to respond. Knowing my weak points and strengthening them will assist me in furthering my communication skills. GlobaLeadership Foundation.
