The way that this course ties well with the presentation is seeing how they correlate. The course spends time discussing the fundamentals of communication and the different theories. The effectiveness of being able to communicate is emphasized and repeated part of the course and the speakers point. An affective communication theory discussed in class was public communication. Being able to reach out to an audience and deliver your message effectively. If you are unable to reach out to the desired audience,
then your work was at the end of the day useless. Natacha gave a great example of a bad visual design that did not work effectively. A sign that was poorly delivered and created does that do its job properly. The example was an unclear vague parking rule. People took the sign literally. The theme repeated was being able to successfully educate people. In each of their work, their main goal was to educate normal everyday people about issues that affect them. These communication skills being taught are usually not looked but are extremely important. The speakers spoke about how they reach out to people using effective communication strategies. Advocacy, imagery, and through collaboration to bring change.
The topic of effective outreach using communication skills is leading to the increase of proper outreach. Learning how to use affective communication to influence can unite people and communities. Uniting communities on social and political issues to help and better our world around us are just a few benefits that come with being able to communicate effectively. Being able to communicate properly isn’t just about being able to talk or express an issue but being able to listen. This course also emphasis on listening and being open to others communicating. This topic and the information learned in this course will lead us to enable all of us to be able to communicate effectively in our perspective area of work. Affective communications are important in everyday life and in our jobs.

Outreach and being able to communicate with everyone can limit change. Information can be a limitation moving forward thriving for change in our community. Communication is often a challenge because we are unaware of the fundamentals it takes to communicate. Communication includes being able to take on information and listening to others. We must learn to grasp on to new information and be able to listen affectively.
