Intercultural living is when people come together from another culture, learning their ways of living, but learning how to adapt is not always harmonious. A person who decides to do this must immerse themselves fully into that culture and understand this; as Dine states, “The proclamation of integration, and the recognition of the "king poles" rendering living together intercultural, are not automatically proactive. It is prudent to acknowledge that intercultural living together is a continuous evolutionary process characterized by countless ups and downs alongside benefits and setbacks posing challenges.”

by appealing to the people and their culture, it is possible to learn how to operate within their society, and by doing this, relationships are built, and friendships are developed. Furthermore, living among the locals will be the best way to understand the language. From my experience living in other countries, it will be to develop a friend within the community to teach you. Regarding intercultural communication, the Apostle Paul introduced a rule we all should remember when communicating across cultures: people will always interpret what you have said and take it another way or misunderstand words because they would mean something different in their vocabulary. Moreau makes this point by stating, “Recent research in intercultural communication has indicated that for successful cross-cultural adaptation, a person needs skills or development in four important areas: character traits, ministry or professional skills, specialized knowledge, and social skills.”

The primary goal
of communicating successfully in a cross-cultural setting will be to learn how to gain the listener's trust. Moreau states, “The goal of communication is always more than just to impart information. Persuasion, or at least influence, is behind everything people do.”

Building trust in communication all depends on the words you choose to communicate with your audience, which can increase confidence between you.
Whether you have a successful conversation or a missed opportunity mainly depends on how much your
audience trusts you.
Intercultural ministry is centered around the gospel, so when the mission is to spread the gospel across cultural lines, that person will need to understand how to approach others with the gospel best. The best
way to do this will be to tell the gospel through stories. If anything was learned from Jesus about the gospel, he told stories or parables to communicate his message to the disciples. The most important part of the story is that he uses an analogy to which they can relate in their own lives. No matter where you travel, you will find that people love to tell and listen to stories. Steffen explains, “Young children, teenagers, and seniors all love to enter the life experiences of others through stories.”

This is why it is vital to learn about the community and the values that people hold dearly so the gospel can fit into their life experiences. 1
