Hello Casey,
Your post on disaster response was very insightful. When responding to a disaster that
hits a whole town, the responders need to have enough personnel to meet the need for recovery
on every level. Lang
(2023) says a robust response to the disaster needs to be. The interaction
should be in action as soon as the weather permits. Communication is the key to getting people
to the places where help is needed. The town needs a system to get the information to the
response team. Good coordination helps the response team be effective in performing their
duties. Data must be sent out during a disaster to alert the community of the impending danger.
The warning needs to be sent quickly. There are many responsibilities Emergency Management
needs to fulfill. These efforts must be simulated to find the weak links in the action plan. The
plan needs to be reviewed annually to determine if it will work.
