1.
In the new classroom arrangement in the video, how well do the environment and
materials support creative activities for young children? How well do they support
culturally responsive practices? Which culturally relevant materials could the teacher
incorporate into the classroom to better support both creative and culturally responsive
learning?
The new classroom arrangement enables children to work on their own by creating games
they feel comfortable with. This is because they are able to access the materials easily
and the space around the class is also conducive to enable them play together with their
friends without being prompted.
The classroom as well supports culturally responsive practices as it gives room for
students to have discussions. The arrangement enhances interpersonal relationships
between the student and the teacher as well as among the students themselves (Imms &
Byers, 2020). The students as well are able to relate well with their peers and thus
improving the communication among each other.
The teacher can incorporate some culturally relevant materials by adding books, songs,
and movies that give a reflection of the different cultural groups. Making use of these
materials can also help in the promotion of a deeper understanding of other people’s
cultures (Rigney
et al
, 2020).

2. Think about how you feel when you are in a room that is well-designed and
organized. This video discusses the impact of room arrangements on preschool
children. Notice the differences in the way the children play before and after the room
makeover and what strategies make the environment more appropriate for the
children\'s learning.
When I am in a room that is well organized and well designed, I tend to have a clear mind
to focus on the day’s activities. I immediately become energetic and tend to accomplish
tasks a lot faster than before. I as well develop a positive attitude towards everything and
tell myself that I can accomplish a lot more than is required of me. I bet this is the same
energy the children have.
How does the way a room is organized affect you? What specific elements help you to
concentrate and to be creative?
The way a room is organized either boosts my morale or makes it low. It determines my
level of concentration throughout the day as well as the expected output. I tend to
perform better in a well-organized room where I see everything in place like I wanted.
The specific elements that help me to be creative and concentrate is my ability to reach
out to the things I need easily without having to look for them for long and the neatness
of the room.
