Collapse Sub discussion In the last episode, when Sara requests a new strategy, she wishes to propose an improvement for staff while dealing with a violent patient. Sara demonstrated transformational leadership by listening to suggestions from her coworkers, accepting them, and perhaps trying to secure the manager's approval for the new policy. The ideal policy for the clinic is to put up a sign on the entry warning people not to be violent in the institution. In a case where a patient becomes violent when being admitted, the door to the ward should also get marked with a precaution/violence sign. This will provide the medical professionals with information to prepare skills necessary to diffuse the situation by keeping composed and blatantly expressing a desire to assist the patient (Dealing with Aggressive Patients, n.d.). Additionally, it will make it possible for the doctors to speak calmly and refrain from using aggressive body language like crossed arms or encroaching on the patient's personal space. Response to Joey Mesa Hello Joey Mesa! Your work on this week's "Saving Sara" episode is insightful. LMX theory, a relationship-based theory that focuses on the dynamic interaction between leader and follower, is evident in work (Organizational Communication Channel, 2020). The theory highlights traits that might lead someone to be considered an "out-group." The episode shows Paula as an "out- group" since she has been verbalizing despite her many years of nursing expertise and being one of the unit's top nurses. As a result, she gives up on learning the new electronic health record system. Transformational leadership is characterized by customized care, inspiring motivation, idealistic Influence, and intellectual stimulation (Sihite et al., 2020). For example, the work has exhibited how Sara demonstrated transformational leadership in her interactions with Paula and her coworkers by engaging in persuasive or motivating conduct that inspired Paula to take the lessons she had learned and apply them to her new EHR system. Sara also prompted other nurses to devise a plan to reduce aggressive patient altercations and raise awareness of those patients who are frequently abusive to other medical workers. Response to Jessica Placeres Hello Jessica Placeres! Your work in this week's "Saving Sara" episode demonstrates your thorough comprehension of the traits of the "out-group" as they are articulated in Leader-member Exchange Theory (Organizational Communication Channel, 2020). This is demonstrated by Paula's personality traits of being a rebellious individual who frequently generates conflict between herself and Sara. Due to Paula's "out group" qualities, Sara urges Paula to be more collaborative and open-minded while proposing new ideas for the team and herself. Doing this may create relationships inside the group, marked by respect, trust, love, and authority. Sara does this through her transformational leadership skills by encouraging Paula and the other nurses to embrace the vision of the organization's goals and standards of performance and by providing them with assistance to do so (Khan et al., 2020). For example, as your work has described, she gave specific instructions and set high standards for the team, particularly Paula. References Khan, H., Rehmat, M., Butt, T. H., Farooqi, S., & Asim, J.
