Dewey’s belief in the value of experiential and hands-on learning, coupled with a commitment to the ethical development of individuals, continues to impact modern education practices by promoting a holistic approach that focuses on the moral, intellectual, and social growth of learners in today's society. INTEGRITY Ethical Leadership Confucius Confucius, an influential Chinese philosopher, emphasized the role of ethical leadership in creating a just and harmonious society. He believed that leaders should exemplify moral virtues such as integrity, benevolence, and justice, as their actions would shape the conduct of the people they governed. Confucius emphasized the importance of cultivating personal integrity and leading with ethical principles to establish strong and virtuous leadership. Rituals and intrinsic virtue must interconnect in order to be an ethical leader (Yuan et al., 2023). Today’s application is to inspire individuals in positions of power and influence to lead with honesty, righteousness, and a commitment to the well-being of others, fostering a culture of ethical conduct and responsible leadership in our society. PROFESSIONALISM Effective Problem Solving Plato He emphasized the importance of professionalism through his concept of the "philosopher-king." He believed that leaders should possess deep knowledge and expertise in their fields to solve problems and guide society effectively. Plato's philosophical outlook emphasized the significance of rigorous training, critical thinking, and a commitment to lifelong learning as essential components of professionalism and effective problem-solving. Although it has a variety of descriptive adjectives to understand professionalism, it is the continuous training, intelligence, and commitment that changes society (Greene, 2007). Today’s application encourages individuals and organizations to approach challenges with a systematic and analytical mindset, seeking in-depth knowledge and expertise to address complex problems. By valuing professionalism and adopting effective problem-solving strategies, we can enhance our ability to innovate, adapt, and find meaningful solutions in various fields and industries.
