SUPERSTORE SUBCATEGORIES TRENDS 2 Superstore Subcategories Trends This report will give further insight into the trends observed within the subcategories i.e. product type (category), shipping mode, and states. Under the subcategory of shipping modes, it is evident that the most preferred mode of shipping is same-day shipping mode because it has recorded the highest number of sales made compared to other modes. However, the highest amount of quantity sold by this superstore was done through standard class shipping mode. Furthermore, the highest amount of profit made by the superstore was through first class shipping. Therefore, this information is essential because the superstore would evaluate, which mode of shipping brings the company more profits as well as help the superstore devise strategies on how they would increase sales and quantity purchased by first class shipping to accrue higher benefits and ultimately the growth of the superstore. Secondly, under the subcategory of states, it was highlighted that Wyoming has the highest number of average sales. Besides, Vermont has made the highest number of profits for the superstore. Lastly, West Virginia has the highest mean quantity of products bought from the superstore. This data is important because the superstore would evaluate which states are beneficial for the company to determine how they would increase sales and production to these states. For instance, since Vermont has recorded the highest number of profits, the superstore would strategize on how they would increase sales as well as how they would attract more customers to buy their products to increase revenue for the company. Thirdly, under the subcategory of product type, the highest sales made by the superstore are under the category of technology, followed by the furniture, and then office supplies. This data is essential because the superstore can determine which category or tie of products are popular in their store. This would, in turn, encourage the superstore to provide more products of

Besides, products under technology have also made the most profit for the superstore; thus as stated above, the superstore would employ this data in determining which products they should invest in more to accrue more profits for the superstore. However, even though the sales of furniture are also significant, this category of products has yielded the least amount of profits for the superstore. This is such a conflicting issue for the superstore because this category has higher sales; therefore, I would advise the superstore to focus more on selling products under the category of technology and office supplies, and invest in less amount of furniture. This would help the superstore increase their overall profits levels.
