HRM 200 Module Four Assignment SWOT Analysis Template Choosing Technologies to Support the Employee Life Cycle Lucy Kelly  HRM 200: Human Resources Functions  Dr. Rae Durham  November 18, 2023      1
Tool 1 SWOT Analysis: Interview Stream Strengths Weaknesses Simple and easy-to-navigate platform. Streamlines recruiting process from screening to onboarding. Fees do not go up more interviews than usual are scheduled. Interview recordings and accessible notes Training recruiters to use the new system. Data migration of historical ATS data might be an issue. Subscription costs (Interview Stream does not list their prices anywhere online.) Opportunities Threats Decrease time spent on screening and interviewing. Improve communication between team members. Increase the speed of responses and interactions with candidates. Glitches in the system could cause loss of important candidate data or impede interviews. AI Recruiting Assistant could become a crutch. Tool 2 SWOT Analysis: TypingTest.com Strengths Weaknesses Decreases data entry errors. Helps find candidates who type efficiently and quickly. Helps recruiters find qualified candidates with an objective, baseline typing requirement. Candidates who type quickly might lack other necessary skills. Could prevent top candidates from completing applications if they do not have easy access to a computer. Opportunities Threats Offers free typing courses and practice games. Teaches 10-key typing, symbols, and number row. Can be used for recruiting and also for current employees as a typing resource. Does not take disabilities into consideration and inhibits diverse hiring. Test results might not be accurate, especially if the job requires multi- tasking or typing while listening or under pressure. Recommendation I recommend that the HR department invest in TypingTest.com. It is easy to learn, and the standard subscription is only $69 a month. It would make it easier to find candidates who type with high accuracy and speed, which is an essential skill for the positions we hire for, and this also points to candidates with good attention to detail. This platform would also be useful 2
outside of our recruiting team and could be offered to all employees to improve typing skills or learn 10-key typing. We could have typing competitions and offer prizes to employees who make use of the free courses. Although typing tests could eliminate potential top candidates, being able to type at a functional level really is crucial to the data entry and receptionist positions. I believe that the strengths outweigh the weaknesses of this tool. Although Interview Stream could be a useful tool, I am hesitant to recommend it because of the lack of pricing information and potential data threats and glitches. The weaknesses and potential risks are too great. We would have to migrate all of our ATS and current recruiting processes and systems to the new platform, which would be time-consuming, and we might lose important candidate information. Overall, TypingTest.com will be a more efficient and affordable way to narrow candidates down without requiring a full process change in our department. 3
