Week 3 Legal Research Process Research Strategy             First, I would need to interview the client so I could gather the important details of the incident in question such as the fact that she spilled on soda and ice, there was a caution sign, and she was not wearing her glasses. After gathering that information, I would need to decide what the legal issue would be in this case and that is “Can the store be held liable for injuries sustained by the client due to her failure to see the caution sign?” After establishing the legal issue, I would need to establish jurisdiction. I would then look for secondary sources to help in locating primary sources of relevant statutes and regulations. After doing that, I would then look for cases with similar facts to this case to determine their outcomes to determine whether the client has a case or not. Legal and Factual Terms 1. Legal terms: a. Personal injury b. Premises liability c. Negligence 2. Factual terms: a. Fall b. Caution sign c. Grocery store injuries d. Wet floor sign Useful Questions 1. Where was the caution sign located? 2. Was 911 called after your fall? If so, did a store employee accompany you to the hospital? 3. Do you only need your glasses for reading purposes? 4. Did anyone come to your aid when you fell? 5. Are there any witnesses to your fall? 6. Are there security cameras in the store? 7. Was there an incident report filled out at the store?
