Introduction The world that we live in today is unlike any times that we have faced. Loyalty in the workplace and seniority is long gone to most, there are few that do show their true appreciation though. By there always being an open line of communication, clear guidelines to what your responsibilities and roles are in your job position, and when and where to turn if you have questions. By the managers getting to know each person, they can figure out what drives them and what talents they are good at and where they are the most productive, really makes a huge difference. When there is a sense of security and enjoyment in the workplace, there will in return be loyalty. More productivity creates more income for the company, and all around everyone wins.
Explain how an organization can help develop and build teams to make them productive as a unit?
When talking about how an organization can help to develop and build teams that are productive, you must know your employees, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and where they best fit with the talents that they hold. Clarify roles and responsibilities, by ensuring that each team member has a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities within the team. By having open and regular communication, as well as by providing job descriptions that leave no questions unanswered. Have clear goals and objectives, this is where (SMART) goals come into play, specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals for the team to work towards. This will encourage the team members to come together to set goals so the objectives may be met. When an organization has clear lines of communication between team members and is open and honest about their communication, then everyone knows where everyone stands
moving forward. Regular meetings, both formal and informal, can help to maintain good communication and a sense of teamwork. Promote a culture of collaboration and cooperation by rewarding teamwork and recognizing individual contributions. Provide training and development opportunities, provide team members with opportunities to learn and develop new skills. This can include training sessions, job shadowing, mentoring, and coaching. Celebrate successes and learn from failures, celebrate team successes, and acknowledge the contributions of each team member. Additionally, use failures as opportunities for learning and growth, and encourage the team to work together to overcome obstacles and challenges. By keeping the work environment positive you can then start to earn and see that values, respect, trust, and inclusivity can be seen. Describe an approach to employee satisfaction from the Korean Air Enhancing Employee Satisfaction article.
By enhancing employee satisfaction, it makes the employees feel more like they can be who they are, and shows their loyalty, which is a rare commodity in today’s world. Letting some
enjoy the free attire system allows the employees to wear the clothes of their preferences, including shorts, and jeans, except customer service and cabin crew. This seems to create a friendlier and more casual workplace environment. When the proper items of how a successful organization fulfills employees’ satisfaction there are clear roles and expectations, knowledge of the company’s vision and goals, meaningful work that relates to the goals and vision, employees being accepted for who they are, recognition for employee’s contribution, employees being treated fairly or equitably, a safe environment with growth opportunities, and open and regular

communication. Among all of these, communication is key and without clearly speaking about every situation, the good and the bad, that is what will make a team.
What are ways that leaders can increase levels of job satisfaction among employees within an organization?
Like discussing above about loyalty, by Korean Air doing the survey they provided, factors that influenced the results of this survey were: a lack of company loyalty (possibly due to layoffs), low or no raises, longer work hours and increases duties, and reduced health care and retirement benefits (Seoul, 2019). Motivation is defined as an inner drive that moves one to act, so often when the question is asked, “How do I motivate my people?” Another person cannot per se motivate someone else; however, he or she can create an environment that is motivating. If we are passionate about what we do, there typically isn’t a problem with people getting to work on time (Christie, L., 2005).
Managers play crucial roles to increase job satisfaction among employees in the workplace. Some ways that managers can do this is to provide opportunities for growth and development, employees want to feel that they are move up in their careers. A strong leader can facilitate this by offering training, mentorship programs, and opportunities for advancement within the organization. Organizations can promote work-life balance by providing flexible work arrangements, such as remote work or flexible schedules. Advocating employees to take breaks, vacation time, and mental health days can also contribute to their overall satisfaction.
To recognize and reward employees, acknowledging employee achievements and contributions through rewards, promotions, and/or recognition. This can help employees feel
valued and appreciated by increasing their motivation and commitment to the organization. Provide a positive work environment, foster a positive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and teamwork. Encourage open communication and feedback and provide a safe and supportive workplace. By offering competitive compensation and benefits that make these essential to employee satisfaction. Managers ensure employees are paid fairly for
their work and receive competitive benefits packages. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs are: (1) body (physiological) needs: air, warmth, food, sleep, stimulation, activity. (2) Social (love) needs: love from friends and family. (3) Security (safety) living in safe environment and without threats. (4) Ego (self-esteem) needs: ego, healthy pride in self and respect of others. (5) Self-
actualization (fulfillment) needs: personal growth and realization of potential (Maslow's hierarchy of needs. (n.d.). Retrieved July 10, 2006). When someone feels needed, loved, safe and knows self-worth because it’s appreciated, that will be when their most potential is reached.
Conclusion Environments in the workplace that provides for the body, security, and social needs a person could develop his or her self-esteem and consequently wish to grow and reach his or her potential. Even though the process may take time, the rewards can be great. It is very important for there to be communication and for every employee to not only know their roles and responsibilities, but to enjoy it as well. When the team feels good, they will usually succeed like no other, with any tasks that may be thrown at them. The more production put out there, the more profit for the company. When loyalty and appreciation are present, the outcomes are endless.
