Discuss the value and use of quantitative and qualitative research and data in business. Articulate the difference between the two types of research and provide specific examples of when each would be valuable in addressing problems within a business setting. In response to peers, discuss whether you agree with the distinction and type of quantitative and qualitative research examples provided. GO TO DISCUSSIONSUBMIT DQ RESPONSE This difference between quantitative and qualitative research is the methods of research to collect data and analysis data, to find a solution or answers needed regarding the research that any is inquiring about. Qualitative research is basically research pertaining to words, focusing on a particular issue within an organization. Analysis would be summarized, categorized, and interpreted to open ended questions from the organization’s workers, stakeholders, or customers. An example of qualitative research would be small interviews about five questions to gather information needed to fix a problem within the organization. To receive proper feedback from everyone involved to continue to make the business a success. Quantitative research is visualized research regarding numbers, including graphs and tables with less words. These numbers are based on a larger group of people involved and comparing their questions and testing what was most suggested to be done to fix the problem at that time. This is putting the research into action to be tested. I believe both ways to research is needed in every business qualitative research would be used to understand employee, quantitative research would be used for the stakeholders and customers.
