1- Personal benefits for having a high emotional intelligence- Answer- Emotional Intelligence plays an important role in personal and professional life as it helps to understand, control, and navigate emotions effectively. Emotional Intelligence is divided into four categories- Self-awareness, Self-management, Social- awareness, Relationship-management. The advantages of having high emotional intelligence in these four domains are as follows- Personal Benefits of Self-awareness- Self-awareness is all-knowing about yourself, your emotions, triggers, strengths, and weaknesses. Overall, why do you feel certain ways? If you are self-aware then you can make better decisions in your life which helps you to improve your overall well-being. So, it helps you to improve your self-understanding. Self-awareness helps to improve mental health and relieve anxiety and depression by having good control of emotions. Professional Benefits of Self-awareness- People who are self-aware are good at making decisions that are consistent with their beliefs, and long-term objectives, which help them to choose better career choices. Nowadays Emotional Intelligence is in more demand than IQ because people who understand their own emotions become good leaders and motivate and inspire others. Self-awareness plays a big role in resolving conflicts at the workplace as it helps to identify others' emotions and the reason for the conflict, which results in resolving the conflict in a positive way. Self-management advantages in personal life-
Self-management allows people to have more control over their lives instead of someone else telling them what is right and what to do all the time. Self-management contributes to satisfaction from life and overall happiness with your decisions. It helps you in your personal growth, and better relations, and enhances your productivity. Self-management in professional life- Self-management is all about controlling and regulating your actions, emotions, feelings, and thoughts. With this skill, one can stay calm under high-pressure situations and can make better decisions related to future goals. Self-management is a skill that is in demand in the market right now. If someone is strong at self-management, they just adapt to the changes and go on rather than allowing them to bother. Good self-managers consider their words carefully and avoid hurting others with their comments. Setting priorities for their work is a self-management skill that helps people meet deadlines and accomplish their objectives. Additionally, it aids in time management. Social-awareness advantages in Personal life- Social awareness helps to understand other people’s emotions, culture, and values and if you are socially aware it helps you to accept and acknowledge the difference in appearance and behaviour. Socially aware people are active listeners, and they also have good communication skills. They understand others’ emotions and make thoughtful and ethical decisions. Because they are active listeners, it helps them to avoid any misunderstanding and miscommunications which leads to peaceful relationships. Those who

possess this skill become role models for others around them as they encourage others to exhibit empathy, kindness, and understanding. Social-awareness advantages in Professional life- Being socially aware is an important ability in the workplace. It may result in stronger teamwork, leadership effectiveness, and improved career possibilities. It not only advances your career but also fosters a supportive and successful work environment. Effective leaders frequently have social awareness. They motivate and inspire their colleagues by being aware of their wants and requirements. In the same way, they build good relations with their customers by understanding their needs and emotions. Relationship Management advantages in personal life- Relationship management helps to build good relations with other people, resolve conflicts and help to create a supportive social network. It is a skill which helps people to provide emotional support to other people when they need it, which leads to a healthy and meaningful relationship. Relationship management cultivates respect and trust in the people you engage with. Any healthy relationship is built on trust, and respect is necessary to keep that trust alive. Relationship Management advantages in professional life- Building a good professional relationship can help you expand your network and open new career opportunities. In professional life, it is important to maintain a good relationship with your clients as it can lead to a good reputation for business and the company’s
growth. Effective leaders are excellent at managing relationships. Their team members respond to them with trust and loyalty, which boosts morale and productivity. 2- Emotional Intelligence is a skill that can be developed and improved over time. There is a difference between learning these skills and applying them in your life because your mind works differently under pressure and stress. There are four Emotional Intelligence domains that someone needs to learn and improve to get better control of their emotions. Self-awareness- It is a very important and easy skill to learn and can be developed by mindfulness, journaling, and meditation. It is all about knowing your thoughts, triggers, sadness, and happiness, and controlling your actions. Self-awareness- Developing Self-awareness can help to make meaningful decisions in life as one can understand their emotions, thoughts, strengths, and weaknesses. It can be developed by journalising, meditation and getting feedback from others about yourself. Self-management- The ability for self-regulation is what allows you to control your actions, thoughts, and emotions in a positive manner. To develop this skill, one needs to focus on their thoughts and do some exercise and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) can be beneficial too. Self-management helps people to control their impulsive behaviour, handle stressful situations and stay calm under pressure. Social awareness- If someone wants to improve their social awareness skill then one of the quickest and easiest ways is to be a good listener and try to understand other’s body language while talking to them. Because social awareness is all about understanding
others, how they feel, and why they react in a certain way. By putting yourself in their shoe one can get a better understanding of others. Relationship management- Understanding other’s needs and feelings is important to build a healthy relationship. Through practice, one can develop relationship management abilities that are teamwork, conflict resolution, and communication. Positive relationships, teamwork, and the capacity to influence and lead others are all encouraged through effective relationship management. 3- Both Emotional Intelligence and Intelligence Quotient play a vital role in personal and professional life. Nowadays, to be successful and get more and more opportunities in your life, one needs Emotional Intelligence which means you should recognize, understand, and manage your emotions but EQ also helps to understand others' emotions at the same time. EQ can be developed and improved over time. Whereas IQ is all about problem-solving ability, math skills, logical reasoning etc. and it is something that you are born with. So, one can improve their IQ but there is a limit. If someone wants to succeed then they need to focus on building healthy relationships professionally and personally and work on their self-awareness, emotional temperament, and communication skills. High IQ can measure the learning capacity but the willingness to learn. Also, people with high EQ have cultivate growth mindsets which help them to stay motivated, willing to learn and accept new challenges. They always motivate and understand their peers. 4- A) Area of Strength- Social-awareness

Social awareness is one of my strengths because I work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. For example- some of them are Canadian, some Indian and Chinese. We usually talk to each other and share our thoughts, so it helps all of us to appreciate other people belief’s, cultures, and values. That’s why I think I am Socially aware as it also helps me to encourage the acknowledgement and acceptance of differences in appearance, behaviour, and beliefs. Area of Improvement- Self-awareness Self-awareness is knowing all about yourself like why do you feel certain ways? And I find it very hard to understand and control my own emotions. I react differently when I am under pressure or when I am angry. I literally do not have any control over me. For example- I remember a few days ago I had a fight with someone at work and I was so mad. I just ran back to home and started crying. And then my younger sister called me, and I just yelled at her for no reason. My past actions affect my present life. Area of Strength- Relationship management Relationship management is all about building good relationships. I am good at that. I can easily make friends and whenever they need my help, I am always available whether it is emotional support or financial help. Above I gave an example of a time when I yelled at my sister but after some alone time, I realized that I was wrong, so I said sorry to my sister and the person that I had fought with. Area of Improvement- Self-management
Self-management is a fundamental aspect of emotional intelligence and personal growth. I am having a hard time gaining control over self-management because I am one of those people who always want others to decide what is good for them. For example- When I went shopping to buy my wedding dress, I ended up wearing the dress of my sister’s choice even though I did not like that dress, but she told me that it suited me and now I always regret my choice. 5- B) Self-awareness area of improvement- My goal is to keep a record of my thoughts by journaling what pops up in my mind when I feel a certain emotion. By accomplishing this goal, I can improve my skill of self-awareness . By taking on new challenges and taking a step out of my comfort zone like volunteering, and exercising can also help me to know more about myself. With the help of meditation and counselling, I can try to get better control of my emotions. Moreover, asking for feedback from people can help me a lot. Self-management area of improvement- By keeping my physical and mental health fit with some physical exercise and self- assessment questions, I can get better control over myself. The best way to stay motivated and satisfied is to celebrate achievements, no matter how small your accomplishments are. This part will help me to stay happy and close to my beloved people. If I am happy, I can be more productive and can focus on my emotions. By continuous learning and investing in my knowledge, I can become more efficient and effective which can help me to get deep knowledge of my emotions and others and manage to control and understand them.
Social-awareness area of strength- To strengthen my social awareness skill, I can try to find out which behaviours in other people trigger me because I cannot change their behaviour but surely, I can do some modifications in myself. Sometimes I get mad over little things, meditation is helping me but there is one more thing that I can do: take ownership of my behaviour and just apologize. I usually do not think about anything before I speak, I just ask or say it. Well, this is something that I need to work on as those who know me, understand me but some people take it negatively. Building the skill of listening and thinking before saying anything can also help in my personal and professional career. Relationship management area of strength- Active listening is something that I need to focus on more because sometimes I get bored as I do not find the topic interesting. To gain someone’s trust we need to listen to what they are talking about that’s how we build new relations and manage them. I usually do not tell people how much I care about them. That’s what I can do to show them their value and importance in my life. For example- I can buy inexpensive gifts, greeting cards and there some other things. This action is small, but it means a lot. I spend most of my time scrolling Instagram reels, I can use this time to talk to my friends, family, and relatives which will help me to know what’s going on in their lives and what are they thinking and so on.
