Wk2Discussion -WMBA-6020-Innovation&Implementation Briefly describe the business process or practice you selected and explain why you think it might benefit from an innovative solution. At my current workplace, inventory is a nightmare. There are products and material scattered everywhere. It makes inventory very difficult to do as well as be accurate. Production is still running during inventory which causes another problem. An innovative solution would greatly be beneficial. Using an innovative mindset, devise one or more possible solutions to the problem. For each solution, identify any potential challenges or benefits related to implementation. One possible solution is to label rows where the material and product are stored allowing a specific location for each one. This will eliminate confusion and scattered material. It will be organized properly with a specified home for each thing. The challenge for this solution is having enough space to organize the product properly without overlapping different material. With the organization, it should free up additional space allowing this to work. The benefit is that every product and material have a specified home which allows easier access, using the correct material for each blend, and counting inventory (Cohen, Quinn, & Roth, 2019). This innovative solution should consist of painting lines, labeling each row with a letter or number. Designate area locations for each row. This could take a lot of time, but overall the results would be better. Setting this up will allow all employees to be able to locate product and material faster which will increase productivity (Plano, 2018). Creating a better flow, easier access, and organization can help eliminate loss of material, loss of time looking for material, and help keep more accurate inventory levels.
