Jones 1 Jermaine Jones Professor Butler MBA 640 X3366 5 May 2024 Microsoft Journal The experience I have had with Microsoft Office products have so far been a positive one. Although I tend to use the likes of Google Docs and Google Slides more often, the option to convert them to Microsoft Word and PowerPoint helps with sending in assignments. The use of these Google products have been helpful more often than not due to the autosave option being set from the start. This provides me the chance to work on assignments anywhere I am at with little to no worry of having to start from scratch. This has especially been useful for whenever my laptop acts up, as well as if I am in a car to go or do something while trying to complete homework. Outside of converting assignments to turn in, the use of Microsoft Office products have allowed me to record dialogue when needed. So far this has been a rarity, but having the option to record my voice helps. As for project management software, I have oddly never used one before this current semester. Although it was only used once, I was a bit confused over how to make the graphs function correctly in comparison to using the Google and Microsoft Office services. From the limited amount of time spent on using a project management software, I could tell that it is meant for more elaborate project development structures. A difference between those products and the project management softwares is how familiar people are with Microsoft Office products over softwares such as Smartsheet. The use of software such as Smartsheet helps businesses keep
Jones 2 better track of their projects, tasks, and schedules (Williams, 2024). It also helps with bringing more structure to complexity while staying organized to lead a team towards a complete project. Despite the simplicity, office programs like Excel or Sheets are not made to be used for project management. It tends to be best for users to create their excel sheets and then transfer them to management software, even though Microsoft Office programs are worth the money spent. In addition, while management software deals with more complex work, office programs help with more simple and common tasks (University of York, 2024).
