The cause of death for both Jennifer and James was swelling of the brain. b. What kinds of test would you run to confirm your suspicions? 1 would run blood and urine tests to check the patient's sodium levels. 3. Once you knew the cause of their symptoms, what kind of emergency treat- ment might you try for a patient like James if you were the doctor in charge of their care? Justify your reasoning using concepts from the textbook reading. 1 would prescribe them with a IV of saline solution to regulate their sodium content in their body fluid.
