Was able to see great detail due to fullness of moon Where it was in Southeast, 40 degrees above the horizon the sky What it looked Full Moon, Blue Moon like Apparent diameter in angular | <1°
In chapter 21.5 it discusses different phases of the moon. When looking at Smart Figure 21.26 on page 654 there is a diagram of the many phases of the moon and the moons cycle. The picture in the textbook differ from mine in regards to angle, location and most obviously technology. One thing that | can relate my photo to is the “full moon” phase picture because | observed a full moon as well as the moon cycle. According to Tarbuck and Lutgens, “the cycle of the Moon through its phases requires 29% days” (Tarbuck et al., 2018). When a full moon is reached twice in one month it is referred to as a Blue Moon. The moon | observed was the second full Moon in the month of August making it a Blue Moon. Works Cited: Tarbuck, E. J., Lutgens, F. K., & Tasa, D. (2017). 21: Origins of Modern Astronomy.
