Gender- based Violence Brianna Gibson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Grand Canyon University SWK- 516: Human Behavior in the Social Environment I Dr. Pepper McCoy June 14, 2023
Definition of Gender- Based Violence (GBV) GBV is any kind of violence "aimed at a person because of their gender." It comes from unfair treatment of women, power abuse, and damaging social rules. GBV is an abuse of human rights that can have major effects on a person's health and safety. It is important to remember that males and gender- nonconforming people can also be victims of gender-based violence, even though most victims are women, and most lawmakers focus on women.

Gender-based violence myths Men and women are equally violent. Only select people experience domestic abuse. Gender-based violence solely include striking, slapping, kicking, and punching. It is normal for relationships to have serious fights and arguments. Violence against women always begins with an assault by a stranger.

A Christian Worldview Within the framework of the Christian worldview, social workers need to give serious consideration to the assumptions, motivations, and intents that lie beneath the surface and influence our perspectives of ourselves and the world. We will be challenged to consider the practical implications of our personal perspectives and to refine understandings on the basis of investigation, reflection and dialogue.
Agency Visit Summary- AZ Coalition to End Sexual Violence That they provide resources to the LGBTQ groups, women, men, and young people was something that I discovered while I was on the trip. In addition to providing fact sheets on sexual violence and weapon violence, the group also offers information on sexual violence. It is wonderful to be aware that there is information available on the violence that occurs among adolescents and legal help.
Proposals Early identification, intervention, defense, and/or assistance for women, children, youth, and victims of the LGBTIQ community or those who may become victims of violence. encouraging and safeguarding the equal protection of victims of gender-based violence across the Union, as well as providing support and protection to all direct and indirect victims of this type of violence, including those who are children of domestic crimes or who experience violence in intimate relationships or within the family.
