Versus Scholarly
Explain how you determined which article is scholarly and which article is popular. Use at least 5 sentences.

I accessed the 'Library OneSearch' feature provided by the University of Arizona Global Campus to conduct research on a specific topic. To narrow down the search, I selected three key words or phrases that were closely related to my subject of interest. Upon en-
tering these terms into the search system, a list of relevant results was generated.
As I browsed through the returned articles, I noticed a helpful categorization fea-
ture on the left-hand side of the list. This categorization clearly labeled each arti-
cle, making it easier to distinguish the type of source at a glance. Specifically, it indicated whether the source was an academic journal, which implies that the content is peer-reviewed.
Peer-reviewed journals are significant because they have undergone a rigorous evaluation process by experts in the field before publication. This ensures that the research is of high quality and the findings are credible. Alternatively, some of
the results were marked as conference papers, which are typically presentations of research findings shared at academic conferences.
This distinction between peer-reviewed academic journals and conference pa-
pers was particularly useful. It allowed me to prioritize reading materials based on their level of scholarly rigor and relevance to my research. Knowing whether an article came from a peer-reviewed academic journal or a conference helped me assess the reliability and authority of the information presented.
Overall, the 'Library OneSearch' tool streamlined my research process by provid-
ing immediate access to a diverse array of academic resources. Its intuitive de-
sign and clear labeling system made it easier for me to find and select appropri-
ate materials for in-depth study on my chosen topic.
Research Process
Explain how you located the sources listed above (3 sentences). Tell us where you found your sources (2 sentences). Then, share how you plan to organize the information you want to use from the articles you are reading (2 sentences). Describe the steps of the research process you have completed so far based on Chapter 1 of the textbook (2 sentences). I
used the advanced search feature within the University of Arizona Global Cam-
pus's library database, One Source, to find the three sources I needed for my re-
search. By employing the advanced search option, I was able to efficiently locate the specific materials required for my academic work. The University of Arizona Global Campus's library One Source proved to be a valuable resource in helping me identify the necessary references for my project.

Within the university's virtual library, I located the three sources needed for my project. The virtual library of the university proved to be a fruitful resource for ob-
taining the required materials.
When organizing the information obtained from the research articles, it is crucial to start by defining the need and audience for the research. This involves clearly understanding the purpose of the project and identifying the intended audience, which will guide the entire organization process. By defining the need and audi-
ence, the researcher can tailor the information to meet the specific requirements and interests of the audience, ensuring that the research is focused and relevant.
After defining the need and audience, the next step is to gather information from the chosen research articles. This involves thoroughly reading and analyzing the articles to extract relevant data, key findings, supporting evidence, and any other pertinent information that will contribute to the research. It is important to gather a
comprehensive understanding of the topics covered in the articles and to note down important details such as statistics, quotes, and references.
Once the information has been gathered, the researcher should proceed to nar-
row the scope of the research. This involves identifying the most significant and relevant information from the research articles and excluding any extraneous or redundant details. Narrowing the scope helps to focus the research and ensures that only the most valuable and applicable information is included.
Organizing all notes is a critical aspect of the research process as it helps in syn-
thesizing and structuring the information in a coherent manner. The notes can be
organized by creating an outline that highlights the main points, subtopics, and supporting details derived from the research articles. This process aids in identi-
fying the connections between different pieces of information and facilitates the creation of a logical flow in the research.
Furthermore, organizing the information obtained from the research articles al-
lows for the development of a clear and structured framework for the research project. It helps in presenting the information in a systematic manner, making it easier for the audience to follow the logic and understand the key points of the research.
By defining the need and audience, the researcher ensures that the research is tailored to address specific requirements and is relevant to the intended audi-
ence. Gathering information from the chosen research articles ensures that the research is based on credible and well-researched sources, enhancing its relia-
bility and validity. Narrowing the scope of the research helps in focusing on the
5
most relevant and significant information, thereby avoiding information overload and maintaining the research's coherence and clarity.
Organizing all notes derived from the research articles is essential for synthesiz-
ing and structuring the information in a logical and coherent manner. It facilitates the development of a clear and structured framework for the research project, en-
suring that the information is presented systematically and is easy to compre-
hend for the audience. Therefore, by following these steps, the researcher can ensure that the information obtained from the research articles is effectively orga-
nized and presented to meet the needs of the audience and fulfill the objectives of the research project.
Three Questions
Copy and paste your research questions from Information Literacy Workshop 1 here. Then, iden-
tify which source will support each research question by placing a citation after each research question. SAMPLE

Currency and Relevancy
Explain whether or not the articles are appropriately current (2 sentences). Explain whether they
are or are not current (2 sentences). Discuss how each source is relevant to the research ques-
tions (3 sentences). In other words, does the source have adequate information to answer your question?
Every piece I have examined offers ample data, ensuring the information is up-to-date and pertinent to the subject of drones and their role in national defense. Each study I've considered delivers comprehensive statistics, with a timeliness and pertinence that di-
rectly align with aerial hazards in military applications. The articles under my review have consistently presented sufficient evidence, with a focus on the contemporary rele-
vance of drones in a defense context. I've found each source to be rich in data, with content that is both current and directly related to the use of drones in military strate-
gies. In reviewing the literature, each document has proven to be well-stocked with in-
formation, timely, and relevant to unmanned aerial vehicles in warfare. The research I've delved into has been remarkably informative, offering up-to-date insights specifically
tailored to the use of drones in military operations. Each piece of literature I've scruti-
nized has been data-dense, current, and has directly addressed the issue of drone-re-
lated aerial threats in the military. The body of work I've reviewed is replete with perti-
nent information, all of which is current and specifically related to drone use in military scenarios. In analyzing the articles, I've found a wealth of data that is both recent and closely tied to the topic of drones as aerial threats in military contexts. Every publication I've assessed has been rich in relevant data, keeping pace with the evolving landscape of military drone usage and aerial security concerns.
