Annotated Bibliography Introduction Educational Institutions have been put in compromising situations causing strains on teachers and students’ success. Due to unfortunate circumstances of the teacher shortage, it has caused many school districts to fill voids with less competent candidates to successfully run their organization. The school buildings are in full operation, but most teachers are struggling to provide meaningful content to students due to lack of knowledge and training. As an educator, I have witnessed the evolution of teaching and learning, and it has changed drastically. Professional developments, focus tightly on the academic subjects’ content, incorporate active learning, encourage collaboration, and provide coaching. But even the best designed professional development may fail to produce desired outcomes if it is poorly implemented due to barriers such as inadequate resources. It is imperative that we improve teacher preparation to ensure they are more effective in their jobs. There’s nothing more important in school than ensuring every student has great teachers. To know there’s a huge teacher shortage among states, can almost guarantee this crisis would have a negative impact on our kids and an even bigger impact on teachers’ ability to produce effective teaching.
