Her heartbreak interests me.
Everyone goes through it as a teenager.
How can learning about your story’s topic (Decision Making) help you develop a better
understanding of the culture represented in the story you chose?
Learning will help me understand what she is going through and how she deals with it during
that time.

Who are the main characters in this story?
The ex boyfriend, the girl, and the bird

Where does this story take place?
It doesn't say where but it is in a city.
Describe what happens in this story.
A couple is having coffee and the boyfriend breaks up with the girl.
The girl then is sad and has
a black bird that follows her around and represents her feelings of hurt.
She eventually asks the
bird to stop and she starts a new routine for coffee.
What is the main decision or conflict presented in this story?
The main conflict is the girl battling her sadness and trying to overcome a break up.

What do you think the creator meant to communicate to viewers with this story?
The author meant to show the stages you go through when healing from a broken heart and how
you carry around the hurt but it does get better over time.
What details from the story support your interpretation of its meaning?
The black bird that follows her around that she tries to shut out etc.
The bird eventually gets
smaller and doesn't cause as much grief as time goes on.

I see that the woman in the story is very respectful in the situation.
What details from the story led you to identify those values?
What lead me to believe this is how she works on moving on her self.
The story doesn't show
her bad talking the gentleman or anything. It shows how she grows also.

My values are similar in that I don't judge people.
Working on myself is very important.

My values are I would of probably not been so humble at first about the situation.
But I would
of been able to grow and move on like her.

Provide two examples.
She approached it with compassion to the other person.
Instead of yelling or trying to be mean
to the gentleman for breaking up with her, she chose to try to move on.
And even though it hurt,
she did it with grace.

I tried to think about myself and others in the situation. I have been through a break up before
and it is very hard.

I would of tried probably to make the person stay. I might of been more trying to lean on them
then grow.

It shows that there culture it shows them to be humble.

I took away from the story that it is better to be h umber then bitter.
She walked away from the
break up and grew.

That going through a break up is hard and that is ok.
That it takes time to get through itl.

They can help me realize that even thought I am going through hard times, they don't last
forever.
