Marriage and Family Therapy Personal Reflection Essay Marriage and family relationships represent the social structures that confer on the survival of humanity. These models modify only to profit society and offer balance. The organization purpose background of worth and determination never deviates. Families conceive additional people that later become responsible members of society absorbing social models, survival methods, and coupling. Families are a component that gives mental, emotional, and physical privacies that nurture us in the right direction; an example being teaching children responsibility with assigned chores by their parents and are rewarded with an allowance. A commitment is promoted between two loving individuals to marry and will also eventually create a family of classic sponsors to society. Lacking either foundation, individuals, let alone society in its entirety, will cease to survive. Marriage and family are the definitive ambitions of civility to guarantee it will continue to flourish. Conceptualize Problems and Solutions To understand my personal ability to form an idea of solving problems, we first must comprehend the meaning of conceptualize. According to Sperry & Sperry (2020), case conceptualization is a procedure to acknowledge issues presented by the client and the ability to accurately compose a treatment plan. These plans provide the counselor with a clear design for focusing treatment interventions, which include a therapeutic alliance, that will improve the chances of completing the goals of treatment (para.5). Now that we can understand and comprehend case conceptualization, from a personal standpoint, processing issues of clients and formulating an adequate plan for treatment, will require some referencing back to my classwork along with additional research initially, until 2
becoming comfortable with my skills. Second-guessing my ability to process an issue, then figuring out the best solution, has always been a problem for me, finding out my initial plan was the best resolution. Reflection of Specialization Reflecting on the difficulties and strengths aligned with trauma specialization prepares a necessary understanding into the rare objections and niceties faced by specialists. As a counselor, my path to theorizing difficulties and solutions is a mixture between cognitive- behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy, which proposes that the client can understand their needs and which course of their progress is needed. The likely strong suit of this specialization is the capability to offer specific, successful interventions that reply to the relationship of distinctive events and universal concerns. This is vital in concentrating on trauma. Insightful writing and assessing oneself is pivotal to growing as a counselor. The ability to recognize existing skills and developmental needs helps me to clarify my abilities. Implementing trauma-informed care displays accomplishments and sections where my method could be corrected for better results. Generally, reflection raises an increased understanding of an individual’s personal and professional progress. In conclusion, making sure there is enough time between sessions to regroup and address any emotional concerns within myself, disconnecting myself from the situation, can help prevent burnout and continue with helping others in my career. 3
