Technology serves as a force, shaping the educational landscape by giving students access to all sorts of information available on the internet. The increase of technology has enabled students to engage in blended learning environments, a concept where in-person and online classes merge to accomplish academic tasks (Zucker, 2009). This empowerment is multi-faceted. The flexibility and independence given to students through hybrid models are important to note. Students can now learn beyond the norm of traditional classrooms, accessing materials through various channels, online or in a physical setting. This flexibility aligns with the evolving needs of contemporary learners (Zucker, 2009). Technology contributes to empowering students through skill development. The wide availability of available technologies, software, hardware, and digital tools, provide a platform for teaching real-life trade skills. This not only prepares students for the challenges of the workforce but also creates a practical understanding of the applications of their knowledge (Zucker, 2009). Technology plays a crucial role in informing students about the world around them. Zucker highlights its role in providing information, stating that the internet grants access to extensive and varied information in multiple formats, such as sound, pictures, and text, which were once harder to obtain. Students now have instant access to social media, research journals, and a bunch of information, offering a level of connectivity and knowledge (Zucker, 2009). 2. What is the most useful and unique thing you have heard about technology? The most useful and unique aspect of technology in education is its transformative potential in fostering personalized and adaptive learning experiences. Technology has the capability to tailor educational content to individual student needs, allowing for differentiated instruction. Whether through adaptive learning platforms, virtual simulations, or interactive multimedia, technology enables educators to address diverse learning styles and paces. The ability to track and analyze student progress in real-time provides valuable insights, allowing for timely interventions and customized support. This personalized approach not only enhances student engagement but also optimizes the learning journey, making education more effective, accessible, and tailored to the unique strengths and challenges of each learner. 3. How can teachers support proper use of classroom technology? Adams and Hamm's emphasize the importance of selecting effective educational technologies. A key approach involves including feedback directly from our students, allowing us to know which tools work most with
them and prove beneficial in our classrooms. Opting for technologies that align with students' preferences facilitates an understanding of the quality, engagement levels, and data-driven outcomes. To foster the proper use of classroom technology, it can be leveraged as a tool for differentiation. As mentioned by the Adams and Hamm, engaging students through digital technology provides multiple options, such as skill practice, information access, and collaborative work with peers in math and science materials (Adams & Hamm, 2014). This approach ensures inclusivity and addresses diverse learning styles. Supporting the appropriate use of technology requires addressing accessibility concerns. Recognizing that some students may have learning disabilities, accommodations, such as translations for English as a New Language students or text options for those with hearing impairments, should be integrated.
