Reflections
As a student, a daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, and all that I need be and called on to be I have to say that my unwavering objective has been and will remain to be to become a conscientious apprentice and absorb all the knowledge, patience and understanding that God has placed before me. When it comes to family life education, I have been able to improve my learning and interpersonal skills to a degree that has aided in my personal development while I have been a student. I've come to think that this maturity will also aid in my development as a better thinker, which is what family does and comes to know. Genisis 1 shows and tells us how it was, when God created us all. His intentions to me were about family, its development, growth, human sexuality and all. In the beginning of time family was always meant to be for God explicitly told Adam and Eve, and later Noah and his family to be fruitful and multiply. There was to be husband and wives, children/families. Colossian 3:18 states “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they will not become disheartened.” Therefore here, my family life education concepts stem from my relationship with God, family and others. My family and associates, friends and loved one All of them have been so helpful in getting me to consider how my choices about how to study my lessons and grow as a student today and for now on out, as well as how my actions, have had a profound effect on my life and family life. As I look out into my collage one can see how family life, family togetherness, intimacy, the concept of family life and it development from the beginning all are valuable points and resources in my family life. Family life is vitally important to our everyday lives and existence. I will continue to feel the effects of this as I progress in my professional life. All this is adding to and expanding my resources and determining my boundaries and knowledge
of family life education being that this all aid and prove valuable in my quest to extend myself and family life education and knowledge. Being that and agreeing to the definition and meaning of Family Life Education according to the “According to the National Council on Family Relations, Family Life Education is the professional practice of equipping and empowering family members to develop knowledge and skills that enhance well-being and strengthen interpersonal relationships through an educational, preventive, and strengths-based approach”. Family Life Educators have knowledge based in the discipline of Family Science, and they consider societal issues such as economics, education, work-family issues, parenting, sexuality, gender, and more within the context of the family.
