Week 3 CEP Reflection Assignment
Homelessness isn't someone else's problem. There is a ripple effect throughout the community as a result of this. There are direct and indirect effects on healthcare resources, public safety, the workforce, and the use of public funds. Homeless individuals live on the margins of society without access to social support systems. In addition to being vulnerable to victimization, poor health, loneliness, and depression, people who are homeless are also more likely to develop chemical dependencies, commit crimes, and engage in other criminal activities. The impact of homelessness extends beyond the present and into the future. The end of homelessness benefits all of
us by breaking the cycle one person at a time, one family at a time.
Homelessness has several adverse effects on individuals. These are some of the things
our ministry focuses on helping them.
1.
Health
- Homelessness is often associated with many health issues. It is common for the health of such individuals to deteriorate from time to time due to the lack of attention they receive from individuals such as doctors, wives, husbands, and family members. Our ministry helps these people in need by supplying over-the-counter medications, such as gauze, alcohol pads, sanitary napkins, and band-aids, among other things. We may not have the necessary resources, such as doctors or nurses, but with these articles, we can help prevent some of their health conditions from worsening.
2.
Personal
- When a homeless person realizes there won't be a roof over their heads for the foreseeable future. For them, it isn't easy to accept. The fact that homeless people cannot deal with reality makes them less able to take action,

but it also causes them psychological harm. In our ministry, we have some volunteers who help us with these people's psychological and mental aspects. Some of them are pastors who, with their shared experiences, help them think more positively, creating a better attitude, and others with academic preparation in psychology and counseling also help with their part.
With this project, I am confident I will be able to see things from a new perspective. It
is not always easy to see other people's needs unless we are in the right place at the
right time. We often focus on our problems so much that we make people see how difficult life can be for us. The reality, however, is that many individuals across the globe are experiencing much more difficult circumstances. To realize how valuable, we can be to those in need, we only need to see their needs and what they are going through. Through these experiences, I will learn how to value what I have and appreciate the little things we have that others often take for granted. Seeing these needs is when I remember and appreciate what my parents did for me and the effort,
they made to be able to move our family forward even through difficult times.
