Educator as Servant Leader: Living and Modeling a Christian Worldview as a Reflective Practitioner
Reflection and Continuous Growth, Collaboration, and Ethics
Cultivating instruction is a vital task that necessitates commitment, interaction, and perseverance. Instructing a classroom comprises the mentality of identifying that each day is a different day and there are contemporaneous tendencies, stratagems, and methods that permits the teacher to propagate education in a way that warrants different comprehension stratagems that will harvest positive educational outcomes. The educator must possess the eagerness to collaborate with other educators, principals, and school confreres to pursue ways to engage efficacious exercises to aid development and fortify the students’ comprehension proficiencies. As educators we must practice in a learning method as well. In no fashion should teachers present themselves as a know it all, but we must acknowledge the fact that we must grow as teachers as well. The same way as students learns differently, teachers learn differently also. The most imperative way of teaching is to always display professionalism. Professional Knowledge Base – Reflection and Continuous Growth
A great teacher is never to bold to learn new strategies and techniques to enforce in the classroom. Accepting that no matter how much teachers know or have learned, teachers can never acquire enough knowledge and resources. Educators must make it a habit to learn new strategies and teaching methods daily. Each student necessitates distinct learning methods and strategies must be incorporated in lesson plans to ensure that students exceed goals and expectations of standards and curriculum. Thus, the importance of teachers learning and exploring innovative and relevant methods of teaching is a vital task for student learning. The aspiration for unremitting erudition intreats an individual to endeavor for further advancement

and individual improvement. Possessing a mindset of unremitting comprehension allows teachers to see beyond education, it allows teachers to view difficulties as a chance for growth and advancement in student comprehension. Several occurrences present the embracing of erudition as one of reluctance and trepidation as combatted to seeing it with eagerness. To express comprehension to students, teachers must present humbleness to learn throughout their profession. The approach of understanding that no one knows everything is an effective way to unremitting learning. Acknowledging that each day is a for developing students mind with the gift of education is essential to students’ futures. According to Nakykki, Kontturi, Seppanen, Impio, and Jarvela, the concept of continuous learning is not new, but it is newly important in representing a lifelong learning ideology and combining formal and informal educational opportunities (Nakykki 2021). Informational expertise enlightens people what is renowned and what is not renowned to help govern the direction of quality instruction in the classroom to work to grow and strengthen the minds and knowledge of students learning and exceeding curriculum standards and objectives. The skill to lead, encourage, and influence individuals starts with self-assurance, self-
knowledge, and self-respect. The aptitude to perform is not empowered in the comprehension of a specific event, curriculum area, or methods, however, it reposes in the principle of self-
assurance. It is imperative for people to feel the joy of being able to complete diverse task and being able to comprehend the necessities of the curriculum. Some situations help power the aspiration to flourish because it permits the teacher to redirect on what has occurred in their lives
and use those situations to structure how the teaching will be instructed in the classroom. Self-
comprehension compels that teacher put prominence and morals on the innermost existence and peculiar credence, moralities, and standards that establish external activities, responsibility, and

communication. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” The will of God provides a path for educators who are aligned with his commandments. While teachers display humbleness as constant learners, God endows them with the gift to supply evolution, attainment, and personal characteristics. As God empowers teachers with the gift of educating and learning, it is teachers’ responsibility to gift students with the most essential education possible. All teachers possess their own methods and techniques of delivering instruction that is essential for their students. The framework of education and how students learn must be equivalent to the performance level of passing, proficient, and advanced. The performance level of passing is grounded on students unveiling broad understanding of the comprehension and abilities essential for success in the subject area. Performance level of proficient is grounded on students demonstrating a unique academic performance and mastery of the mandated material for
success in the subject area. The advanced performance level is grounded on students exceeding the required curriculum standards in a subject area. Teachers must base their instructional learning techniques that aim to reach the performance level of advanced. Although we know that not all students will reach the advance plateau, we must strategize our teaching methods based on
how students learn. Incorporating learning strategies that students are familiar with is a way to help students comprehend the necessary standards. Incorporating familiar learning strategies for students will help increase their comprehension skills for curriculum standards, benchmark assessments, and overall learning. Furthermore, there are state standards and guidelines that are given by the Mississippi Department of Education, each lesson plan should reflect the state standards and achievement plans. It is imperative that lesson plans are centered around student learning. Teachers must incorporate modern and 21
st
century learning in the classroom to help

students become successful. Resources such as chrome-books, smart boards, visual displays, and online learning is a great way to help students earn academic scholarships and admission into colleges. The strategies can ensure success for students. Blended learning is a process that can be beneficial for teachers and students. Blended learning allows students to learn using a virtual and face to face learning environment. As we know, all students learn and comprehend differently. To advance student learning, teachers must find a way to balance different learning environments for students. Supplying the necessary resources to students will help students learn comfortably. Teachers must understand that God endows them with the skills essential to lead students and pour out knowledge into them. Teachers must have a pure and clean heart in the profession of education. Psalms 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Teachers must understand how to handle circumstances in a professional way. Teachers must lean on God to help transform students’ lives in the classroom. When we seek God, he never puts us in a situation that is not of him. God can do things that we cannot. It is imperative to seek him in everything that we do. Application to Practice – Reflection and Continuous Growth
The demand for unremitting progress in education subsists more so today than ever before. There are certain philosophies that are absent from the classroom atmosphere that is poignant to the instruction assistance that students are receiving which in turn imitates their attainment rate, skill rate, and capability to master and sustain comprehension after high school. Teachers must be not become stagnant with curriculum, but they must find a way to teach and instruct the class on all levels to help with student comprehension. With continuous growth happening all around us, teacher must make sure that it is happening in the classroom also. Every
6
establishment improves sporadically, therefore, school systems and teachers must constantly grow to give students the knowledge needed to become successful. To instruct and lead a classroom with productive and effective instruction, the teacher must have a keenness to learn and instruct with different methods, and students must be willing to learn and comprehend using the provided methods given by the teacher. Providing continuous growth is not something that just happens, but it is constructed in the lesson plans of the teacher and in the learning of the student. Teachers must incorporate strategies and techniques that revolve around innovative learning. Teachers must reinforce standards that students struggled with and provide classroom practices to warrant the growth and development of students in the subject areas. Teachers must implement methods and stratagems to aid proficient and effective classroom instruction. The classroom instruction must be aligned with the state standards and learning practices. When teachers properly prepare and plan, it is easier to find different concepts
to help students of all kinds find their path of learning. Teachers must be the champion that every
student needs. Knowing that every student needs support in diverse ways will help the teacher change the way of student approach. Teachers are held accountable for how students learn and comprehend, therefore, efficiently planning and preparing is vital for teachers. The conception of which a class is educated establishes how effective students comprehend the standards and objectives. When instructing the class, the lesson should be centered around the comprehension skills of students. The lesson must be presented in a format that influences all levels of comprehension. Teachers cannot be stagnant with one teaching method; therefore, the classroom should reflect the emphasis of a circle that never ends. It is vital
for teachers to find students strengths and weaknesses. Once teachers have found the students

strengths and weaknesses, the teacher must plan accordingly in ways that will keep the students engaged in the lesson. Our instruction must be consistent and reliable for student comprehension.
The most significant duty and responsibility of teachers is to know what teaching methods should be incorporated in the classroom to be effective for student learning. Teachers must keep in mind that no student learns the same. There must relevant and reliable resources available to enhance student learning. If there is one student in the classroom who is not engage in the practices that are being taught, the teaching method that is being used in not relevant for the student. The teacher must then transition into a different strategy that will engross every student to learn more effectively. Meeting the needs of the students in the classroom, is significant to necessities that we need to live. Once teachers have incorporated the foundational learning strategies, teachers must then challenge students’ minds and knowledge to help them become successful. It is vital to reassure students of learning strategies that will continue to help them grow in every subject area.
Once the teacher has established a continuous growth system, the teacher must then self-
evaluate themselves, evaluate student learning, and have students to self-evaluate themselves. Self-evaluations are precautionary steps that will help reinforce strategies that will be beneficial to the teaching and learning of students. The teacher should display a character of leadership, support, and understanding. When reflecting on the teaching strategies, it allows for the teacher to make changes to different categories of lecturing. It gives the teacher insight on how to deliver
the lesson to students in the best way possible. We cannot be concerned of how other individuals see us, but we should be concerned of getting better and moving forward in our profession of teaching to employ continuous growth in the classroom. Self-evaluations also allow teachers to remove different strategies from their teachings that are not helping students to grow. Effective

teaching is the key to success for becoming a great instructor and leader. Teachers must be able to adapt to every student learning style. However, there are times that students will have to adapt to learn new methods of comprehension. We must not be a revolving door with our teaching, but we should be like a seed planted and ready to grow and reproduce every chance that we get. Professional Knowledge Base – Collaboration
A prosperous classroom encompasses beyond the manifestations inside the classroom. To
yield exceedingly effectual teachers, teachers must partake in trainings, professional development, and learning from other colleagues. The duty of every teacher should be to aid students in surpassing and attaining their academic goals. For this to happen, teachers must be willing come together and share strategies, methods, teaching techniques, and ways to help students grow. When teachers choose to collaborate, the process will produce effective learning for students, effective teaching for teachers, and will help boost student scores on benchmark assessments and state assessments. Collaborating with others bring out a lot of positive strategies, it allows teachers as a group to look beyond and develop different concepts of learning
and teaching. Teachers sometimes may feel that they are living up to the potential that they have within. Having a support team of teachers around them can help push them to never give up, but to establish a foundation of learning and effective teaching. According to the theory of Ruano, Heine, and Gebhardt, collaboration among teachers is a force that positively influences the whole
school community (Ruano, Heine, & Gebhardt 2019). Teachers working together can create a foundation of positivity and success throughout an entire school. Effective teacher collaborations help as the bridge and structure to rapports that promote remediation periods, interventions, and tutoring. When teachers collaborate with one another, they must look within to creatively build concepts that will benefit teaching strategies and
9
learning styles. Collaboration is beneficial for teachers in a way of finding different methods to incorporate in collaborative learning for students. It is beneficial for students because it gives them an opportunity to reflect on different point of views from their peers. We must establish a foundation of understanding for our classroom culture. Teachers are well-aware of what other teachers deal with daily, collaborating with other teachers will build a stronger rapport amongst faculty and staff. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” Every individual in life needs someone to help lift them up when they are down. In the teaching profession, it is imperative to have a team of teachers who will have your back when you are having a bad day. No teacher can do anything alone, we must ask for a helping hand. Teachers have their own unique way of developing strategies and techniques in the classroom. However, teachers must adopt teaching strategies and techniques that will be successful for student learning. The purpose of effective teaching and instruction is to develop the minds of students in innovative and successful ways. Teachers must take in the necessary strategies to build their lesson in aligned to state standards and objectives. According to Djenic and Mitic, teaching strategies in modern blended learning environment are student oriented, the structure of the learning environment is totally adjusted to students (Djenic & Mitic 2017). When
the teacher communicates the lesson to students in a way of understanding, the students can attain the concepts of the standards and objectives in a comfortable and understanding way. Therefore, the concepts of instructional learning should be student centered. Teaching strategies should not be used as leverage over students but should be used to help students learn in more than one distinct way.

Teachers must aim to direct and to point instructional strategies and then transition to other methods throughout the lesson. Incorporating successful and unique strategies that are data driven is a concept that will be beneficial to teachers and students. Implementing data driven activities will allow the teacher to group students in pairs that will be beneficial to the growth of each student. Students must be able to demonstrate their comprehension through homework and/or test. Direct instruction helps the teacher to specify what students need and must know that
correlates to the curriculum. Proverbs 4:7 says, “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom; and with all thy getting, get understanding.” As educators, we must obtain the understanding of God’s word. Teachers need the word of God to help strengthen them daily and to have encouragement throughout the day. Not only that, but God will also implant his wisdom in us so that we can help students become great in whatever it is they need. Without the concept and understanding of God’s word, we will not reach our full potential in anything. We must live by, walk by, and love by using the word of God. It is an honor for a parent to be a part of their child(s) educational journey. However, we must make parents aware of what is going on with their children. We do know that every parent is not the same. Some parents are willing to sacrifice time to help their children. Furthermore, we
must have collaborative settings with parents also. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students
must all work together to better the lives and learning experiences of students. However, all parents want their child to succeed and do great in the classroom. Teachers must make it a routine to consistently speak with parents about their child. The most important part of this is knowing how to communicate with the parent. The resources provided through the school district
is the most efficient way. Resources such as email, school status, phone calls, and google meet conferences. Parents need to feel that the teacher has their child as their number one priority.
11
Teachers must always communicate the behavior of the students to their parents whether the behavior is good or bad. Letting parents know how their students behave is vital to a great parent
and teacher rapport. Parent and teacher relationships are vital to the success of the school. Therefore, teachers must ensure that the communication between parents and teachers are top tier. Organizing different methods of communication can help develop a level of growth between teachers, parents, and students. The communication process is significant for students’ academic growth, behavior, school news, and more. Amos 3:3 says, “can two walk together except they be agreed?” The support that students have from their teachers academically should be the same support that parents get when their child is in our care. We must keep parents notified of things that are going on around the school. We must feed parents with wisdom as we do their children. It is imperative that the parent and teacher have the same academic goal in mind for the students.
If teachers feel that the students learning comprehension can increase, the teacher needs to let the
parent know and create dialog showing how this can happen. Both the parent and the teacher must display a common ground for the student to achieve every milestone possible in their academic journey. Application to Practice – Collaboration
It is extremely important to hold students accountable for their behavior, conduct, and grades. A great teacher is very clear about their approach to student behavior (Whitaker 2020). It is imperative that both parents and teachers are on the same level when it comes to the student success. It pertinent that parents acknowledge the importance of the student’s home environment,
love and support, and positive upbringing. The teacher must acknowledge that they are responsible for the student academic success in the classroom. It is the responsibility of the
12
teacher to provide every student with the expectations in the classroom. Expectations must be simple and clear to understand for students and parents. Students need to know what they are expected to do in the classroom. When expectations are established, students will walk in ready to learn and grow in their academics. Students will know what is expected and will know the consequences if they do not exceed expectations. Teacher and student collaboration is pertinent to classroom success. Teachers must build a collaborative rapport with the student and parent to gain the upmost potential from the student. The teacher, parent, and student rapport should be consistent to produce an effective classroom environment and culture. While each student learns diversely, the teacher must develop a dialog for each student with the expectations listed. Once students know the expectations it is their responsibility to adhere and succeed the expectations given. Furthermore, teachers should not just say what they expect out of mouth but provide students with visual displays of expectations. Create an affirmation that students must recite every day they step foot in the classroom. Expectations should be displayed in the classroom, teachers google classrooms, and occasionally, on assignments. Student feedback is essential to a teacher’s workday. Teachers must provide feedback to students regarding assessments and benchmark test. Teachers must make sure that students understand the standards and concepts of the lesson. Students can provide feedback to the teacher. Providing feedback to the teacher allows the teacher to analyze what students know. This will allow students the opportunity to collaborate with one another. Once students are collaborated, teachers should challenge each group and participate in the activities that students are working on. This will allow students to communicate and provide feedback amongst one another to comprehend the concept of the standards and objectives. More so, teachers should get

parents involved with feedback also. Teacher and parent rapport is vital in the line of education. Generally, parents only receive phone calls when their child is misbehaving. That should not be the case. Teachers should reach out to parents even when they are behaving in a positive manner.
Parents should not only receive calls when students are not doing well. This will build a positive rapport between teachers and parents. Furthermore, the parent may be able to help improve the circumstances that are going on in any area of the student’s life. Professional Knowledge Base – Ethics
In the profession of education, there are many requirements and mandates issued by federal and state laws. It is the teacher responsibility to abide by these laws. It is imperative for parents to be able to trust teachers with their children. There are nine standard codes of ethics that educators must abide by. If by any chance these codes are violated by teachers, parents have the right to take further actions against the teacher. Teachers must provide the most efficient quality of education; however, it must be done so in a professional manner. The most important asset that a teacher can have is to go above and beyond for students. This will ensure that the teachers are doing what they are hired to do. According to Dodillet, Lundin, and Kruger, teachers
are coming to the fore as key contributors to economic, which explains the increasing attention given to their professional development (Dodillet, Lundin, & Kruger 2019). The teacher is the focus of creating a positive and safe classroom. State and federal laws cover a variety of areas. From teachers contact with students to
the use profane language. There are a variety of rules that teachers must abide by to continue their careers in education. However, teachers must understand that the most important part of education is to gift the students with the most advanced education possible. Teachers should not get caught up in trying to entertain students but become an example for them to follow. No
14
teacher is the image of perfection; however, the goal should be to become close to perfection as possible. 1 Corinthians 14:40 say “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Our job is to more than just teachers. We are to help change the lives of our students for the betterment of their future. Every single decision that the teacher makes should be done to help the student become successful in life and in academics. There are some students who are not fortunate enough to have positive individuals to look up to in their lives. Therefore, the profession of teaching is significant. Not everyone can take on the role of an educator. Teachers must understand that their positivity is what will impact
the lives of students. Every school and every classroom should possess a teacher who signifies a positive and caring attitude, speaks with professionalism, and acts in a professional mannerism. Most educators do not realize the effect they have on other students lives and the influence that they have become in students lives. According to Zakira, Nor, and Alias, teachers are the agent behind all school activities to drive students and school success (Zakira, Nor, & Alias 2020). Teachers must be effective in their everyday endeavors. Students are looking and watching everything that teachers do. Be a positive change for students. Professionalism is a huge trepidation for many school districts and parents. However, teachers have been decimated over time from lack of support and behavioral issues in the classroom. So, the commitment of teachers is vital. However, teachers have become professional
even after all of this. Yet, professionalism for a teacher goes beyond the classroom. Teachers must dress in a professional way. Teachers should not bring about attention in what they wear the focus should be on the success and achievement of students. Teachers must be the example that students need to be successful. 1 Timothy 4:12 says “let no man despise thy youth, but be an
15
example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.” Relationships are a critical component of effective teaching (Whitaker 2020). The life a teacher goes above and beyond the pay scale. The teacher must display love, encouragement, support, and the love of teaching. If teachers do not care for students or show concernment for them, students will fail. Effective teaching demands proper planning and preparation. Every student needs the support of their teacher. According to Rautainen, Maensivu,
and Nikkola, interest originates in some form of person-environment interaction (Rautainen, Maensivu, & Nikkola 2018). For teachers and students to be successful, the rapport must be professional, and school based for the student to acquire effective learning. Teachers must do what it takes to influence students in a professional manner. The needs of student educational development should be evaluated sporadically during the school year. Students should be assessed to determine their capability of learning. The
assessment should show data that will determine if the student is on the learning curb of tier I, II,
or III. There are several things that can contribute to the assessment of students, the primary characteristic is behavior. Most students tend to misbehave when they do not comprehend something, the result of ADHD, ADD, and other characteristics. To aid students through this process, teachers must be the champion that the student need. Teachers must understand what concepts the students can comprehend and know what triggers the student’s behavior. Teachers should collaborate with other teachers and parents to help identify the accommodations that the student need. Philippians 4: 13 says, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” We
face difficult task in our lives. As teachers, we may encounter students who may be challenging but God will give us the necessary tools to help us become successful.

Application to Practice – Ethics
The goal and focus of the classroom must be the student’s safety and academic growth. A
vital part of student success is having a teacher is all about supplying them with the knowledge they need to become successful. The teacher must find a way to help students excel in every standard and objective. Majority of us do not like change; however, sometimes change is what we need to get on the right track. Teachers must be eager to change and adapt to new things as nothing stays the same. Teachers must find a way to shift teaching strategies for innovative learning, blended learning, and face to face learning. Embracing change is imperative in the education realm. I have experienced this firsthand. It is up to the teacher to change the way they approach things. The goal in the end is to do whatever it is to ensure success for the students. To warrant change, the classroom must concur with the state standards and objectives. There will be a change in education each year. Nothing that has been successful, has stay the same. Teachers who do not accept change is bound to lead students in the wrong direction. A great teacher creates a plan to help them adapt to the change. Creating a plan will aid the teacher when disruptions, interruptions, distractions, and other things arise that can cause the teacher to get off subject. Teachers also need all the help they can get. In this profession moral support goes
a long way. Change is foreseeable, teachers must warrant the change and implement diverse strategies in the classroom. Building positive rapports with students will help create a peaceful, safe, and effective learning classroom environment. Students must know when they have built the trust with their teacher. This will make students feel more comfortable with learning and asking questions. Gaining trust from students will also keep down confusion between classmates and any other situation that may tend to arise. Students are willing to make changes to gain trust from teachers.
17
Teachers must understand that some students may be in a mental and emotional state of mind. Teachers must foster strategies to help students who deal with these types of difficulties. There are several students who live in an unfit home environment. Consequently, the students will attend school as if everything is ok but inside, they are hurting. Majority of students who are
in these situations portray negative behavior, lack confidence in the learning skills, and have negative attitudes. When students are portraying this type of behavior, there is something that the
student is not receiving at home. Teachers who display encouraging acts, positive acts, and supportive acts can win the student over. Displaying positivity will ignite the student to do better and to want to learn. Regardless of how the students behave we must treat them with the upmost respect. According to Todd Whitaker, as educators, we know how important it is to treat students
with respect, no matter how they behave (Whitaker 2020). Respecting all students is a must for teachers. When teachers show respect even when students are misbehaving things will began to settle down. Respect is essential in education.
There are two significant characteristics that are vital in education, trust, and confidentiality. For students to want to learn they must first believe in the teacher’s ability. When
students began to trust in the teacher, learning and teaching will be beneficial for both teacher and student. Furthermore, teachers should not violate any confidentiality of the students. It is vital that students can believe and trust in the teacher’s ability to help them overcome situations. Teachers must do everything in their power to make sure that students are comfortable and at ease with learning. Conclusion Teachers should incorporate significant strategies and techniques in the classroom that will be beneficial to the learning of students. God created us all in a way of distinction. However,
18
in God’s eye we are all equal. Teaching requires more than reading from a script or a book, but it
requires dedication and responsibility. Teachers must make sure to have a positive, safe, and warm classroom environment. Having a comfortable classroom will boost the level of learning for students. Teachers should challenge students every day to master the standards and objectives
in the performance level of advanced. For the school to be successful, teachers must be successful. It imperative that teachers collaborate with one another to better enhance the learning
levels for students. Teachers must do whatever it takes to become great.
