The winged victory of Samothrace is a popular ancient artwork created as an offering to the Greek gods. The statue is crafted from the finest marble from Greece, which gives the artwork a magnificent look. The statue was created to represent the goddess of victory who assisted the Greek sailors in winning a war ( Arnason & Mansfield, 2012). Many people consider the scripture a masterpiece of Hermann Thiersch due to its famous nature. The winged victory of Samothrace was first discovered in 1863 and was embraced by the people as the goodness of victory (Meijer & Oppen, 2019). The artwork's style represents the goddess's power, which assisted the Greeks on the battlefield. For instance, the wings are modified in a take-off position while providing details of the wings, demonstrating the goddess's powerful nature. The art represented the beginning of the cubist movement by displaying western world art. People criticized the canvas paintings, while others appreciated the beautiful painting of naked women.
