How do Roy's "amazing feedback loops" demonstrate scaffolding or the zone of proximal development? It showed where certain words was being repeated by his wife, nanny, and his self and how it was influencing his son. The positive influences gave the best feedback. Since his son was at a proximal development it safe to assume that he was learning a lot from everyone (Roy,2011). Think of a time you learned a new schema. How did scaffolding support your learning, and how did you know that you were becoming more competent? Thinking of a time of learning a new scheme, I would have to say playing softball. I never played it growing up much I had to watch until my freshman year of high school. I would not get it at first but after a few tries and watching everyone I finally caught on how to play. I got MVP as a freshman, which is very hard to do. How does the concept of scaffolding as it relates to the zone of proximal development apply to any of the following programmatic themes? You may want to review the Programmatic Themes PDF document. I think it honestly goes with all of them. In the proximal development stage we are learning from our parents or some one that is stepping up to the plate. So if we have the appropriate care and have someone teach up as a child we should learn a lot with the program themes. We should be able to watch some self-care acts, learn about social justice and EI, and when we get older hopefully we were able to see the career connection and ethics.
